Bittersweet History of “Sweet Nothing in My Ear”.
Amy Cohen Efron Hello Everyone! It has been one week since the Hallmark of Fame presented a movie made for TV, “Sweet Nothing in My Ear”, and there were several positive reviews along with a few scathing critical critiques written up. I assure you that this blog entry is NOT a review. This is different. My video [...]

Dancing With Nothing in my Ear
Drolz Uncensored Aw, crap! Mere hours after I wrote a tongue-in-cheek article about Marlee Matlin's impact on my kids, she got eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. As much as I was kidding around about Sweet Nothing in my Ear, I'd like to add that I'd become a hardcore Dancing With the Stars fan. (This is a huge confession coming from a guy whose TV is usually locked on ESPN.) You...

My Thoughts on Sweet Nothing In My Ear
Noah's Blog Also, I forgot to add that Deaf people should realize that not only hearing parents refuse to accept that their Deaf children cannot hear in the same way they hear, but also Deaf parents with their hard-of-hearing or hearing children. On the bottom of line, all parents, both Deaf and hearing, ought to accept who their children truly are.

“Sweet Nothing In My Ear”: Rachel’s Opinion
Cochlear Implant Online Elizabeth gave very good thoughts about Sweet Nothing in My Ear, and I agree with pretty much most of her criticisms. I'll chime in my thoughts as someone who's looking through the glasses of the CI community. I thought the way the controversy was presented in the film ...

Thumbs UP
Deaf Tea Time "Sweet Nothing In My Ear" has my double thumbs UPs. Well made and very wise decision not to include into the movie "the winner." The message of the story is the family needs to stay together for the sake of the child. A parent shouldn't make a decision based on their own fears. Dan Grisham was grieving for the hearing baby he once had and Laura Grisham was scared of ...

“Sweet Nothing In My Ear”: Elizabeth’s Opinion
Cochlear Implant Online I'm typing this as I watch tonight's CBS/Hallmark Hall of Fame Presentation of "Sweet Nothing in My Ear" a movie about cochlear implants.  These are my observations: Not realistic.  The husband speaks as he signs to his wife, whose character communicates 100% in sign.  I know it saves the production money ...

MM Has It Right!
Deaf Tea Time CNN featured an article on tonight's airing of "Sweet Nothing In My Ear" with MM, Noah Valencia, and Jeff Daniels, a well known actor with a long list of blockbuster movies. In this article, MM's character is 100% ASL - a challenge for MM who finally admits to being not an ASL user. She admits she speaks, lip-reads, and signs in English to deaf people. Pretty much the...

Interesting Review about “Sweet Nothing in My Ear”
Cochlear Implant Online This article is worth sharing as it depicts the viewpoint of a person who hears normally and is not involved with any kind of deafness, and it's what most hearing people's reactions are when they hear that CIs are at all controversial.

Political Correctness on TV Sometimes Goes Too Far: Is it...
submit by: anon I was at a Hallmark Hall of Fame reception the other night, where they presented Sweet Nothing in My Ear starring Jeff Daniels and Marlee Matlin. I was baffled by the struggle, ...
