Drowning in a Sea of Disbelief by Paul Singleton
ASL Community Journal Editor’s Note: I have a permission from Paul Singleton to post his message. ~PR This afternoon, I stopped by Safeway’s food store to buy a couple cases of bottled water so I can donate them to the HMB guardians. I only had two hours to spare in visiting the Fort FSSA. About three thirty PM on this [...]

Saturday, October 7, 2006: Protest Day Two
ASL Community Journal I brought some essential items to the protestors guarding their HMB lockdown and stayed with them from 7 PM until 11 PM. The numbers of students, staff, faculty, and alumni continued expanding. Nearly everyone attended the rally. The tents set up strategically inside maintained HMB. After the rally, they attended several productive activities, a classroom [...]

Everybody Has a Microphone
DeafDC.com A friend of mine, Ben Moore, came over last night to sit on my porch and unwind with some wine. We got to talking. The recurring theme of our conversation? You guessed it! The Gallaudet protest. Earlier that night, when Ben emailed me and said he wanted to stop by, I thought to myself, [...]

Save Gallaudet University:
Kalalau's Korner Save Gallaudet University: Stop Presidential MonarchyMonarchy is one of the oldest forms of government, with echoes in the ?my turf? or ?in-house? leadership. I am writing this post because I don?t think a secular academic freedom at Gallaudet is a guarantee of higher education because of the upcoming JKF presidency. I would consider that an in-house promotion is a [...]

Will Protesters Gain Access to Office of Provost in HMB?
Mike McConnell I question the tactic by protesters who have hijacked Hall Memorial Building (HMB) on the campus of Gallaudet University. If this hijacking continues into this upcoming week this means many of the classes may be cancelled or moved elsewhere. Also, many of the staff and faculty offices are located in HMB where they have their computers, letters, books, gradings and [...]

About DPS Assaulted Students.
We just want to take classes I saw video that a DPS man pushed two students. The policeman may was upset because he was surround by many students and some students tried to stop his walking. Therefore, he pushed some students.Ofcourse Police was wrong about pushed students. But he just pushed, NOT hurt, NOT injury, and NOT wound.FSSA's members tried to send biased information. They exaggerated about this case, and they accused Mercy Coogan who write "Daily Digest".[...]

Faculty Cancels Classes or Moves Class to a Different...
Elisa Abenchuchan A professor from the Department of Business has cancelled all of his classes this week. Another professor sent out an email to his students saying that classes will resume this week, but at a different location — around the EMG statue.

HMB Lockdown Continues
RidorLIVE The tense at HMB remains high. The rumors indicated that the raid will occur later in the day. But the calls to the Metropolitan Police Department indicated that they are not going to interfere or getting involved with the raid. So it is all in the DPS’ hands, the incompetent staff members who cannot [...]

Poll: Gallaudet Students, who pays for your education?
Mike McConnell Here's an interesting poll something that might be of interest to guage to see how current Gallaudet University students pay for their education at Gallaudet University. Men are Pigs
What matters deafness of the ears, An interesting read, to put it mildly. Oh, you ask - after reading the essay - what are my views? Erm, well, ah, see, I reserve comment. No girl has ever picked up sign language because of me anyway. (Alas! And.. oink!)Why am I annoyed with hearing members of my own gender, you ask? [...] [...]

What about the BOT?
DeafDC.com Some of the comments recently posted on DeafDC.com have been making me think. Are the protesters misplacing their anger and objectives? There are some days when I think they are. Had they gone forward with a solidified agenda from the very beginning, I think that the rest of the world would be [...]
