A Frustrated Alumnus
Mishka Zena Peggy is not the only person to feel this way. Many alumni, including me, feel the same way. We all don’t understand the actions of I.K. Jordan, especially the last few weeks.  Alumni readers, what are your current feelings about Jordan’s actions this year? elizabeth Thursday, October 19, 2006As a frustrated alumna, I wanted to send this [...]

This protest, in a few short weeks, has done more to galvanize the WHOLE deaf community than anything the Gallaudet administration [...]

Students Hurt!
People of the Eye MSSD gate was recently forced open by DPS. They bulldozed the gate open. There were NO INTERPRETERS on the scene. Students were seriously injured. They also dumped massive heaps of “trash” by the front gates, mostly consisting of tents and students’ possessions. Students are very angry. More to come.

College Hall lockdown
ayala920's Xanga College Hall was locked down once again last night at approximately 12:30 am. But it appears that the lockdown has already ended.Personally, I didn't support the lockdown of College Hall. I understand the frustrations many students have because of the lack of concern from the administration, but locking down College Hall was not the answer. Protestors have been [...]

Updates about College Hall Lockdown
People of the Eye Students locked College Hall at midnight, and stayed there until approximately 8 AM this morning, when they vacated the building, due to a shortage of people to keep it locked down. They only locked the first floor. The building is still closed as of right now, and is secured from the inside. DPS has yellow [...]

Will ye submit your necks?
testing_the_truth Will ye submit your necks, and choose to bend The supple knee? Ye will not, if I trust To know ye right, or if ye know yourselves Natives and sons of Heaven possessed before By none; and if not equal all, yet free, Equally free; for orders and degrees Jar not with liberty, but well consist. Who can in reason then, or right, assume Monarchy over such as live by right [...]

RidorLIVE Today, my friend and I loitered at a bar in DuPont Circle and we were alerted by his pager vibrating. It was a message to tell us that it is time. It was at 1 AM. Meanwhile, there was this hearing patron who saw my Gallaudet t-shirt and said , “You are Hellraisers!” with a [...]

WE MUST BE TRUE ROLE-MODELS
Columbia, South Carolina for FSSA Again, we MUST be TRUE role-models for those deaf and hard of hearing children. Why did I (the author) say this?It is because I had been following the blogs, vlogs, webclips, and all other information off the Internet...one thing disappoints me greatly. I notice that the journalism among a few "reporters" are not very good because I notice that most did not do their [...]

TENT CITY in SOUTH CAROLINA
Columbia, South Carolina for FSSA We had around 15 people including children at the TENT CITY. We could have more people at this "city," but rain and cool weather kept most at bay. However, we all had a good time together as one of FSSA family. We believed that we , South Carolina, should host a tent city to show our support particularly toward the deaf and hard of hearing children. We decided to [...]

Alumni Sign Up Sheet!
Deaf Kitchen One nice thing about this protest is that it is, in the words of Steffi Ellis ('97), organic--meaning that various groups are popping up, like mushrooms after a rainfall, to take charge of various logistics and operations. Witness the football players' takeover of the entire campus *apart* from the 300-400 occupants of Hall Memorial Building nearly 2 weeks [...]
