How successful is cochlear implant?
Filipino Deaf from the Eyes of a Hearing Pers My last post made me think deeper. Are cochlear implants proven to have a high success rate? The reason why I'm having serious doubts is when I was putting sub-titles on the video, I'm having a hard time listening to the speeches made by those two kids who have undergone the implant. So instead of deciphering what he is saying, I simply put [inaudible speech].

An American Mom in Tuscany: Jordan's Cochlear Mother Fights System to Get Help For Deaf SonBy Brian WalzelEditor Published in the Tomball Magnolia TRIBUNEThe hours after a baby is born are supposed to be filled with happiness and elation, not shock and disbelief. And considering my struggle in comprehension as I tackle the nuances of hearing via a cochlear implant. My old nemesis "Tinnitus" is back with a vengeance. He, (Mr. Rin Tin Tin), pretty much went away after activation day (May 1st). But his other b...

They DID via 2 special programs... via demands most deaf did not understand what the hell the issue was all about. The debate had deteriorated into choice, a hearing or a deaf child ? then they started slagging each other o...

TigerDeafie Genetics ‘stuff’ might have died somewhat with the virtual unopposed passage of Clause 14/4/9 of the HFE Bill in UK Parliament and burn out on the part of those of us who have spent so much time and emotional energy trying to bring to public awareness the consequences of Bill.
