We are attempting to get a meeting for parents set up with I King Jordan for this Thursday at 9:00 a.m. as you will see in the letter below.  We invite anyone who can get to Gallaudet to attend.  If we get no response then we will simply just sit in front of his office till we get his attention.  His ”Welcome to the New Academic Year” 2006 letter posted on Gallaudet’s website says “Drop by anytime”.

The letter:

Dear President Jordan,

I have been asked by Gallaudet parents from across the nation to contact you and request that a meeting  be held  this Thursday, October 19th, at 9:00 a.m. in your office or wherever you designate it to be. The objective of the meeting will be to work towards opening up the lines of communication between the Administration, the Board of Trustees, and those involved in the protest so that all the stakeholders can then come together to work towards a plan of resolution.  An interpreter will need to be present as both deaf and hearing parents will attend.

I realize you are most likely receiving many emails at this time; and therefore, I will also contact your office tomorrow morning to help arrange the meeting.   We hope you will make every effort to meet with us as this issue needs to be quickly and urgently addressed.
