Very moving message from Tom Holcomb

Received at 6:03 am

I just woke up and now am weeping because it is not just a bad dream but a night mare for the deaf community. . I guess I m in shock. A delayed respone ti the mayhem last night. I m weeping because King made it a crime for people to love gallaudet. I m weepng because the students did the dirty work for the faculty staff and alumni. I m weeping for the future of gallaudet as it s clear the bot is so out of touch with thr real issues that are dear to deaf people. I m weeping because the man who I used to respect is no longer my hero. I m weeping because I love gallaudet so uch.

***update: I accidentally rejected a couple of comments. One on this post was anonymous, saying it's not a crime to love Gallaudet but it is a crime to shut the campus down. But one, from Dave R., was posted here. I'd like to respond to that. Anonymous, please feel free to re-post your comment.

Dave R has left a new comment on your post "Very moving message from Tom Holcomb":
Impossible that Tom Holocomb wrote that. Until I see him sign it, I ain't buyin' it.

My response: My pager still has this exact message sent directly from Tom's pager - FIRSTHAND. And several of us responded to Tom. If he didn't send it, he would have denied it. Trust me. Tom wrote it.

Thanks for responding, I thought I was being ignored at first. Oh geez, I am thinking of Dr. Tom Humphries, the BOT member grrr, I got my wires crossed. My apologies.

Would be nice if it were Humphries, heh.

*laugh* Yeah, I can see why you'd be like "What the heck???" if it were Tom Humphries. *grin* And yup, it would be nice if it were Humphries...
