An Hoosier En Route!

A good number of concerned Alumni, friends, and especially parents of Gallaudet students have contributed some of my travel expenses on several hours' notice. Although we managed to collect half of the fare, we hope to exceed that by tomorrow. Then we would be able to donate the excess to the FSSA. We even are trying to be ambitious such that we raise even more to send yet more concerned Hoosiers to Gallaudet next week.

Now that I have packed my bags, prepared my future Gallaudetian (Sami) and a potential future interpreter (Wanda) for the weekend without their Alumna papa, I am set to travel.

I carry more weight besides whats in my bag (lots of wires, for the pager, laptop, camera, etc.), I bear the love and messages from Hoosier parents, Alumni, and friends. I sincerenly hope I will be able to find all the Hoosier students and staff to deliver them.

Sure, I am nervous about what I would be facing in a couple of hours, but then I say to myself, if there are hundreds of fellow courageous Bisons facing hardships and struggles right this minute, I am inspired.

So, off I go to the DC, by way of Atlanta.

Jay

P.S. Hoosiers, please continue to contact Judy Catron and Darlene Ewan to contribue toward this cause.
