Jane Fernandes: Walking Academic Disaster

Folks, it is serious stuff about Jane "I had to make unpopular decisions" Fernandes' true performance as the Provost of Gallaudet University. Read!

1. The White House asked the Office of Management and Budget to investigate if Gallaudet uses federal funds according to expectations. They found that the academics at Gallaudet is 'ineffective'. It is just another word for disastrous!

2. The Department of Education found that program goals were not achieved. It is very powerful language. Mainstream media and the hearing world must know it, they bite on stuff like that! Tell them! Tell the media, tell Congress, tell everybody because it is the real issue! As soon as people understand this, Fernandes will be unseated!

More details -- NOT PERFORMING PROGRAMS: WHAT DOES NOT PERFORMING MEAN?

The program rating indicates how well a program is performing, so the public can see how effectively tax dollars are being spent. ExpectMore.gov tells you whether or not a program is performing.

Programs categorized as NOT PERFORMING have ratings of Ineffective or Results Not Demonstrated.
  • Ineffective.Programs receiving this rating are not using your tax dollars effectively. Ineffective programs have been unable to achieve results due to a lack of clarity regarding the program’s purpose or goals, poor management, or some other significant weakness.

Look at this abysmal score of 13%. If a student scores 13% in my class, I talk to that student that there are grievous concern about the performance. Is this right? Sure it is! But look, what happened to Jane? Her score of 13% was praised as outstanding, and she was promoted to President!? Is this not insane? Pinch me, please, if I am dreaming. A nightmare of the most terrifying kind, huh? Please, Board of Trustees, wake up and restore decency, at least a crumble of it, at Gallaudet University, and send home this walking academic disaster, so that no more damage is made!  We would be grateful forever!

Hi jimthec, unfortunately Tom Humphries knows this well but does not care! In May I asked him how could they, the Board of Trustees of Gallaudet University, promote Fernandes to President with her abysmal performance. He said, performance measure was not applied in the presidential selection process. Well, what can I say? Hey Board, Gallaudet IS an acedemic institution. Therefore there is one rule for any leader: either perfom or leave!!
