Urgent message from Sandra Ammons after VPing with her sister Donalda Ammons:
Important message:
Just spoke with sis' Ducky and she gave me permission to share this with you all.
*** She said: "YES, SEND PEOPLE AND APPLY PRESSURE AND DEMANDS ON GU!! FREMONT KIDS ARE TRAUMATIZED!!" She says to go ahead and send representatives to Gally tonight, tomorrow, this week, next week, and thereafter...
*** The students had a good meeting this afternoon with the lawyer specializing in peaceful protests and they had drills preparing for a possible raid by the DC Police sometime this evening?? Students are not to fight back. They are to become limp and lie on the floor. Let the police carry them if they want to remove the students from HMB.
*** We need to send emails to King Jordan, Patti Kunkle, PR office, Michael Moore, Deborah DeStefano, etc. and tell them to STOP all the blatant lies and cease all the oppressive tactics used to control the protest.***
*** Start contacting your friends who live in MD/ DC/ VA to go to Gally N O W! Videophone them! Page them! Email them!
*** Start bombarding the BoTs - check www.RidorLive.com for contact info. on BoTs. Send them email, call them, etc. (Editorial note: I have misgivings about telephoning them, but if any of you have e-mail addresses, yes, bombard them with respectful, yet strongly worded messages!)
*** Andy Lange, GUAA president, has coined a GUAA theme for Homecoming which is ~ "Take Back Gallaudet!"
*** One last thing... Ducky says Tara Holcomb is AMAZING, beyond words!!! FSSA, students, etc are VERY inspired by her and her insights! They have already started visualizing her as our future Gallaudet president! :-)
See you all tomorrow (Mon. 10/9) at the forum - 4:30 pm - at the Elem. Activity Center!! Time is NOW to sieze Gally!

*** It was also mentioned that we, the PARENTS of current students, need to become more vocal and start barking at GU administration for harrassing our children in various ways. We need to call our house reps./ senators and have them intervene! ***
So, we, the parents, need to unite and show GU administration that we are BIGGGGGER than them!

Best way to cut off the funds to Gallaudet Interpreting Services is to STOP calling their Sorenson VRS.
No Sorenson VRS calls, no jobs for Gallaudet Interpreting Services!!
Let’s use other vendors such as MCI, CSDVRS, Hamilton, HOVRS, CAC, SprintVRS, and etc.
Jane and IKJ are absolutely uneffective leaders today!

Agree wtih #1 Let Switch from Sorenson VRS to other VRS providers.
Staff, faculty, and Students on the campus should switch too! Just igrone Gallaudet’s policy to use Sorenson service only.
You can keep Sorenson VP-100 and VP-200 and use other VRS providers!
