That’s great to save Gallaudet University. Of Course, we, PA would need Gallaudet U. to be save then it would influence to the whole world as well in PA to aware more Deaf people. It would impact all the world again because last 1988 the world recognized, but it seems that it died. We need keep Deaf world alive and to be recongnize and we deserved to be respect from the hearing world. Black, women, and etc. already recognized and where is Deaf? It is imperative that we save Gallaudet University. I was a student there during the Deaf President Now protest. I have learned a lot especially about the deaf culture. Let’s not forget or abandonded Gallaudet U.

I see that at anywhere deaf schools slow down and collapsiable. My concern and desire to stopping maintstream schools to go back where is special schools for deaf/HH to keep the expenses instead school locations n interpreters. Like blind/C.P.,or something specific. I beleive in Deaf history to below to only school for the deaf not public school. I understand parents feel their own raising children and closing school instead stay dormitory at school campus. My feel is important to deaf children go school for the deaf on their socializetion. I know its hard drill from public schools to continue in good reasons with deafs’ situation life than parents’ personally. Deaf students become strong growing on their deaf cultures and keeping in future for Galluadet U. Pray to keep all schools/colleges for the deaf till how much deaf people… Also deafs’ need support for ADA to assistance from your Gallaudet U. I know many stated same… Hope its solve in future… Good luck!
I total believe We the Deaf community must do something about preserving ASL first at Gallaudet University. Ever since Gallaudet brought Clerc, it was pure ASL. Now we are more focused on Deaf community and not putting ASL community equal to Deaf Community. As matter of fact we Deaf are getting lower than the wheelchair or the blind community in equality. We need to preserve the Deaf Culture with ASL. When Gallaudet U. began at first with ASL. I believe that Gallaudet Board members should have invited the outside world Deaf community to hear their concerns. I thought Gally was supposed to be the best model to educate any
Deaf residential in any state, but it is not. Why have MSSD for a model and not many states follow the same system? I think they should. If every Deaf residential in each state follow the same education as MSSD, then I think the Deaf can achieve better than sending them to public school mainstreaming. We have alot of Deaf go to mainstreaming came out not being a Deaf leader. Are we going to lose our Deaf culture with ASL????
To Whom it concerns, Always I think of Gallaudet University,mostly important for deafies cultures , where they can go there n learn new technolgy. Very important for them. Wish for me to go there as never too late learning. Always, I enjoyed at NYSD.Can’t miss for that. I love my Alma Mater. Need to have ADA Support from Gallaudet? Good Luck
The Gallaudet University is an example to the world. The Deaf Education through our experience in the past, needs to be adjusted from our experience through that university’s collection of all resources from Deaf schools. I believe that university should collect the mainstreamed students’ educational achievement reports from all public and private schools in our country.
The deaf who were graduated from any deaf school are very lucky because of our rich benefits through our social in ASL and great opporunity of particapting in many things like sports and government. The bilingual and bicultural education is strong recommended for the deaf children . Deaf children need deaf school staff for the deaf role models. According to the history,Thomas Gallaudet chose ASL for the Deaf Education after he visited deaf schools in Europe and created the Deaf Community.
We are concern for our granddeafkids’future.And we need more impact our future goverment,social,sports and asl. We need our strong stand for our future and don’t give up our goals.
