Please have your parents/friends call Congress and complain that the security guards are brutalizing their students conducting peaceful protests.  Report that the there is a controversial policy restricting the students’ expressions and that the students are living in an atmosphere of fear that isn’t healthy for a learning environment.  State facts and how concerned you are for your child’s safety.  Please alert the Congress that Gally PR have issued several false statements yesterday, i.e, that no students were harmed  by security guards and also that no mace wasn’t used  by the security guards. They did happen. They don’t know what’s going on at Gallaudet and you need to educate them. It is never about  a cultural identity crisis or a cultural power struggle. It is all about ineffectual leadership of an administrator with six years track record and a flawed presidential search procedure.

From the memo BoT sent out yesterday  “therefore we have directed the Administration to do what is necessary both to assure the safety of our students and to allow the work of the university to proceed.   ”  This may be construed as an omnious threat, considering the actions of DPS yesterday and the systematic rough-handling of the students by the security guards over the years. Please express your concerns for the safety of your children because of one statement made by the BoT. Please emphasize the fact that many security guards are not fluent in sign language and have severe problems communicating with the students, sometimes not even signing at all.

Congressional Members will listen to the parents and friends as they are the taxpayers and have a lot of power.   Since Jordan and BoT refuse to be accountable and keep ignoring the Gallaudet Community, the protesters must take it above BoT. The next step is Congress. They pay approximately 45,000 thousand dollars for each student.
