  • CENSORSHIP AT GALLAUDET----Channel 7 told to go away

At 4:20 a.m. this morning (Friday, October 6, 2006), Natasha Barrett of
WJLA-TV, ABC7  News asked permission for their television news van to
enter the Gallaudet campus and was denied permission.

At first, the DPS officers asked them to wait while they called the
administration to ask permission.  The answer that came back was "No."

"They told us to get off the campus," said Barrett over the phone to a
    protest media liaison.

Currently at 4:47 a.m. arrangements are being made for her to conduct
an interview over the telephone with a protest leader which will be
recorded and broadcast on television later today in Washington, DC.
(reported to me by another protester)
