  • Update on the Protest

The Tent City almost doubled in size last night as there was over 40 tents. Some faculty members stayed very late last night at the Tent City to keep an eye on things. A lawyer came and stayed overnight to ensure that the safety of the protesters are protected. Kudos to the faculty members and the lawyer!

The protesters are doing well now, with high spirits.  As of now, they're eating donuts.

Commerson, the leading student protester, is now boycotting his classes. Yesterday during the rally, he said "We must stop university functions. Then when all this is finished, we can go back, with all this oppression out of our heads. I'm not going to classes anymore. Nothing. Until they meet demands. Are you with me?" (www.xanga.com/elisa_abenchuchan ). Apparently some of the other protesters are also boycotting their classes.

    UPDATE:

There are about 18 students now in the BoT board room, holding up signs saying "last chance", "show us u care!" and "hear us!"
