In one week surgery will take place to address the non-functioning electrodes in my cochlea. The good surgeon will make it right. This I know.
He will take out a bunched and scrunched set of electrodes that refuse to cooperate, straighten them out and put them back in place. These guys are good, and the team knows how to fix things.
I have no doubt.
Today is surgery pre-assessment day. A day of questionnaires, lectures, and swabs in places I dare not attempt myself. In this day and age of C-Diff. and other assorted silly germs that love to enjoy shutting down hospital wards and what not, it is standard practice to make sure that no germs grace any part or portion of my body. Today they will ensure that up to date, none have.
I figure I should get a medical degree out of all of the hospital visits, consultations, specialist visits, and independant research that I have done in the past few years. I am just not sure what my major will be? Should I be a blood cancer specialist or a cochlear specialist? I know far too much on both subject than the normal human should.
Doctors and hospital visits are the norm in my life lately, and today was a double dose: Princess Margaret for Janet's Leukemia check in the morning followed by a visit to Sunnybrook for me to do the pre surgery thing. I like to spread my parking expenditures around. Twenty bucks at PMH, Twenty bucks at Sunnybrook.
Yesterday Dan Guitar man decided to get a piece of the medical action and went to see the family GP for a look at his feet warts. A shot of freezie stuff and we were good to go, and the parking is free!!!!
Speeder has avoided the Vet this year, I wonder if he feels left out??
Warmest,
David

Sending you good vibes for a surgery that fixes this!
Counting down and wishing you the best.
Oh poor Dan
Glad to hear that the GP treated his Plantar warts.
I left one for such a long time that I had to have it surgically removed. Talk about pain!!!
I now check my feet constantly for warts because when they are tiny it is so simple and painless to have them *frozen.*
I have been researching C-difficile lately since my husband's aunt was one of the unfortunate Québec patients who died from it last year.
Bear Hugs to all----and Speeder STAY HEALTHY!
