I so LOL when I saw the chair crack and heard Liz do her scream. TOOOOOOOOOOO Funny!!!
Great Videos, and a very interesting one to watch. You helped to portray the students and all seemed very engaged in the conversations and willing to learn. Great job Teacher Geo! :)
They seem to know more then I do! Very impressive! Way to go!

I am THOROUGHLY impressed with the students’ strong desire to learn and, fast, too! I can see that you’ve made a positive impact on them. I laughed so hard when Liz screamed. I hope they will continue to learn more ASL and that someone out there comes forward with the information on how to get them to USA.
I like it how Alex called you “Teacher Geo”. It fits you well, Teacher Geo!

What a great experience to work with such motivated and eager students! I’m sure they miss you. (I don’t know about funding for continuing ed, but if I see anything I’ll pass it along.)

Nice going Senior Geo! I love the bingo game they seem to really enjoy that, hell I wanna play too. Maybe i’ll bring that idea up during my next ASL class this wednesday. I need to work on my numbers. And when Liz screamed wasn’t that loud it was like less than a second

What a wonderful idea of Bingo. I think that is one way to learn and still have fun with it. I can see they do pretty good for only 1 week crash courses. I wonder did any of them fall in love with their teacher?? *whistling* HEHE
I’m still envy that you went over there.. I always want to travel all over and see different sites.. YOu got to take me along next time to other countries.. I wanna be your traveling partner.. :)

Ohh that is very good question, Fairlady about whether or not if they fell in love with me?
Hey Seekies,
Thanks!! I received some e-mails giving some tips about financial so I will see what I can do by starting to contact Gallaudet and such.
Of course, let me know every bit of information you can will be greatly appreciated. You all are rock!
Hey Roberto,
Yep, bingo is definitely a great idea. It has helped a lot to learn much faster and you can have fun at the same time!

SG,
I keep wonder how many Nicaragua deaf peoples. I assume that they are about 100-200 deaf people population or more?
August 9th, 2008 at 10:11 am
Hi Deaf Pixie,
Ah.. that is very good question. I am sure Gallaudet have some sort of resources like that, I believe. I was wondering about it also.

This video is very engaging. Thanks for taking the time to post it, Professor Geo. It looks like you had a class with great students.

Hey Teacher Geo,
You must be a great teacher.
You know how to have fun and teach them… the bingo game was a great start.
I would encourage you to consider teaching ASL at your hometown community college or university. You’d make good income.
It looks like all cars and trucks and vans are old just like Cuba… do have that old styles of cars?

Hi Suzy!
Aww.. thanks!
I thought about giving it a chance to teach ASL at community college so I looked up but unfortunately, nothing I can find that teaches ASL here in Tri-Cities nor any is available anywhere nearby. So maybe next year when we move out of here after Jes graduate school, I can look into it.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Oh for cars/vans, yep.. many are very old ones but there are quite a few very brand new the ones who have “money”.
Hugs,

Hello GEO! I missed viewing your life stories. I have been on errands in Fort Myers, and on vacation. Nowhere special, just local parks and fun in my county aka Tampa Bay area (not country, lol). Anyways, very interesting.. using our sign (ASL) is foreign to them.. Glad you and Jes have the opportunity to go there to teach them alittle bit, and touring around Central America! Looking forward to see more of it as you said you might show us.. heeheh.. Have a great week!
Oh… by the way, you mentioned that the girl (Liz) screamed when you broke their precious van seat.. I can only hear what sounds like a yelp, and mostly laughters.. heeheh Bye for now..

Hi Murraw!
Good to hear from you! Glad you had fun traveling while doing errands! He he.. yep it was amazing experience for us and I sure hope it will continue at later dates for sure! Now, off I go back to watch Olympics, gotta love it!!
I will begin working on next Nicaragua video this week.
Have a great evening!

They could apply for financial aid and their visa to join a college here. I hope this will help them.

Nice and good trying.
I’d like to share another site, http://www.ourexplorer.com, a platform for tourist guides and travelers to find each other. It might be of help.
