DBC: Resources and Opportunities!!!!
For years, we have not had enough resources and opportunities such as results, reports, statistics, histories, successes, failures, cultures, hoods, isms, politics, beliefs, educations, and many more.
I believe every parent has right to have resources and opportunities. Some people think parent should get limited or selected resources and restricted opportunities or even none. I strongly disagree with them. I am very much aware that they are overwhelmed with so many things for them to learn. Yes, it is part of natural progress for parents during their tough period.
Resources and opportunities help parents make their decision for their own children. They know where to go in general direction with strong foundation. We believe Bilingualism (ASL and English) is the best foundation for them.
For more than 100 years, many parents do not (or barely) have resources and opportunities. You all know the results. History repeats itself.
The DBC can help to stop this cycle and help society move on to a new direction for the sake of parents and their Deaf babies. With resources and opportunities, Bilingualism will prevail.
Your inputs are always welcome except negative attacks. Constructive discussions (agree or disagree) may be published.

Excellent point! The resources are indeed vitally providing to the hearing parents to research in broaden options for their deaf child and pay attention exclusively what he/she really needs for their language to access into the wholeworld.
Some hearing parents never heard or saw any deaf people before. The resources were very limited to provide in the past for deaf children’s opportunity to explore themselves into bilingual approaches and mingle with others.
For example, my mother never received any resources to help me to attend summer camps or deaf clubs or special events where the bilingual were exposed in the environment. My life were lost and I had to pick up my puzzles to gather and for today I am.
I don’t want to see any hearing parents to receive the minimum resources without ASL, social events, camps, etc for their deaf children. It is important to faciliate the communication between deaf child and the parent especially their hearing siblings to increase their self-esteem with language exposure importantly. Especially the deaf people, deaf child look up at with the beautiful bilingualism.
Thank you for bringing up the good subject for our attention.

deafchip~
agreed!
the key word here is OPPORTUNITIES, rather than options. parents do not need to pick one option. they should be encouraged to seek all opportunities that are readily available. one of the opportunities is so natural and organic - ASL!
like don g said, sign on!

Righto! - There is a lack of professional resource materials in relation to Auslan/ESL teaching in the Australian Deaf Education context probably because of the fact that the Education departments and most teachers of the deaf have been disinterested in the philosophy of Deaf bilingual education or not confident about the implementation of it.

Hi FB,
The problem is that I use google video that is not compatible with DVTV. I just emailed Tayler to ask for his advice. Thanks for recommending. I appreciate that.
Hi Nick,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is one of the most common incidents we, the Deaf, have experienced. I surely hope future will change positive course for Deaf babies. Thanks again
Hi Don,

Hi SDA,
Yes I love the idea of opportunities instead of options. That will give parents see all opportunities instead of options. Interesting. I have never thought about that till you brought it up. Yes Sign ON!
Hi Shel,
Thanks and Wave back to you too!
Hi Donovan,
I think we already met in Australia in 1999 after WFD. Your name is familiar to me. Yes you are right about lack of resources that many parents need the most. I agree we are very concerned about professionals who have already been trained by trainers with audist attitudes. That is our biggest concern of all.
Responsed to Rogue (fraud one) has been removed. Thanks to the real “The Rogue” for alerting me. I caught Dan for using fraud username. Dan is banned from my vlog.

Deafchip,
Excuse me, it wasn’t my comemnt!
“Anonymous Rogue” used my name “Rogue” wrong as I always used “The Rogue”. This person also copied someone’s comment from my blog. I am sort of furious with “anonymous” person!
Please check my blog with same comment like this one:

Hi Joey,
Yes we need to spend our energy into resources. It will be a huge project that future parents and Deaf babies will appreciate very much. That will turn into opportunities rather than options.
Hi Joseph,
Thanks and Thumb Up in response!
Hi Penny,
Yes I beleive DBC will do that. I have noticed that DBC is on the right track. DBC needs people like you and others to make a new centre of resources and opportunities. Thanks about my vlog!

Yes, I TOTALLY agree with your posting. Since the late 1960’s, the Total Communication Philosophy resources and opportunities that do not help to improve the literacy of Deaf children at all. that’s not much different from the Pure Oralism Philosophy (pre-TCP). We NEED to collect any statistics or results in order to make a strong case that proves the wasted 40 years of the failed Total Communication Philosophy and then SHOW the case to any Deaf Education agency that does not recognize the Bilingualism as an option. We SHOULD SHARE the hard evidences with any hearing parent who doe not know anything about the failed TC. When the Deaf education agency or hearing parent learned it, then we can introduce the Deaf Bilingualism philosophy resources and positive results to share with them. Yes we NEED to expand the Bilingualism resources by adding the statistics, history/culture facts, etc…..
