I wish I could use your skill to film myself express my opinion in ASL. Thank you for sharing your viewpoint. I was in Italy when DBC met in Milwaukee. I am collecting inputs about the gathering and learning more and more about backstabbing in vlogs and blogs. I feel sad. I am reading a book for my book club and realize more and more that we backstabbers are not comfortable with our fears and find a way out by blaming others. In another word, we suffer from low self-esteem. The medicine for it is self-love and love of others. Let us talk more about the topic of love, respect, the ability to listen without attacking others, and liberation.

Ruthie, Thanks for sharing your thoughts, feelings and perspectives of what is happening in the cyperspace about DBC and other issues. I feel sad because there are some unhealthy backstabbers out there who have fear of new changes down the road. It hurts my heart deeply.

I went to First Annual DBC
Conference in Milwaukee, Wisc. It was one of the best conferences I have attended. CHAMP! My hat goes to the core members of DBC-USA!! They did a wonderful job organizing 5 outstanding keynote presenters, State Chapters workshops, arranging peaceful rallys and many more! AWESOME! I do strongly support DBC's mission. We FINALLY are doing something is valuable to us. We are working on living with the integrity. I wanted to share "what is integrity?" from the book I am reading.
"...integrity means more than
simply being honest because it
requires the capacity to act
with discernment, to have the
"sustained moral reflection
that is often needed to tell
right from wrong."" (p. 56,
Rock My Soul by bell hooks)
I wanted to HONOR that we are going through different levels of Deafhood. Hope we all can work together collectively. Peace to you and each of you.

beautifully said, Ruthie!! thank you. I really look forward to your video work from DBC. It will be good to be reminded through them of what wonderful things actually happened there.
Yes, it's been extremely sad about what A FEW INDIVIDUALS said during the DBC weekend and the 2 weeks afterwards.
But I guess every cloud has a silver lining...and I think we are starting to find many!! including your message.
thanks again.

Two Deaf conferences were attacked: DBC and NAD. It should tell you about certain HoH, hearing-impaired, and English supremacy people in DR. Internalized oppression toward culturally Deaf and their events still. Why? Cuz they cannot gather enuff people to lead themselves. Losers behind a keyboard and webcam, that's all they are, no change.

Ruthie,

Wow! The past two weeks really flew by! That's what happens when we stay busy. Thanks for reminding us!!

Thank you, DBC USA, for the hard-earned success in Milkwaukee!!!!

Later,

Pam

P.S. Theo saw your vlog and says hi to you!

Calling for clarification is called backstabbing? I wonder how Washington Post reporters think of this when they ask for clarification from President Bush.

Ruthie, your comment has inspired me deeply. It has fulfilled my heart of love. I am still learning more and more.....thanks for your beautiful view.

PatrickGarybill, it is understandably true about low self-esteem among unhealthy human beings who desperately need to be loved and love.

If anyone gets the wrong idea, I've affirmed from the beginning that the DBC conference has been very successful. So many Deaf people who left, very inspired and empowered, something the Deaf America needs badly. Obviously, for them, bilingualism and deafhood are very important.

Hi Ruthie

Great vlog! I am glad you brought it up to express our best experiences about our first convention.

We can move on to grow through grassroots of people (parents included) based on our mission, Bilingaulism for Deaf babies and children.

You did a great job!

Good message. It's sad to see how some people who haven't been at DBC attack DBC's core members. Assumptions and putting stories together from reading blogs and/or watching vlogs are things we should avoid.
And there are always some people, I suspect those who are oral deaf people, who try to break the cohesion in the deaf community to help AGBell, for example. Those who are smart enough should at least ignore those backstabbers, and they hopefully leave as they realise they cannot do us any harm.

Of course, I agreed with you. Everyone have conflicts with other plans as they don't have time to do on their own Vlog/Blog.. REMEMBER THAT IT'S SUMMER THEREFORE THEY GRAB THEIR BREAK AND ENJOY THEMSEVLES. COME ON WITH STABBACKERS YOU DON'T HAVE ANY COMMON SENSES. BE PATIENT TILL THE SUMMER IS OVER. WINKS..BILLY

Beautifully expressed! Your ASL is très fantastique! I am looking forward to viewing your videotapes. I am particularly dying to watch the tapes of six people's presentations! So historic because it was DBC's first conference.

Beautiful!
It is now up to those 'backstabbers' to grow up and conquer their fear.
Thank you, Ruthie! :-)

Oh, what a great vlog!

However, I'm disappointed that
many bloggers, including
Joey Baer, Drmzz are leaving.

I always feel that it's
wrong for Amy, Elizabeth,
Jon Savage as vloggers or
bloggers and as human editors
at the same time. They'd not interfere DBC and other
bloggers.

I pray that Ella is to stay.
She's a giant, empowering
deaf Americans.

Did you hear me out, Ella?
Stay here!

I'll sign Anonymous.

Ok. We watched your video, interviewing with AGBELL President. What did you think about this one?

No formal letter from DBC Core Members. Where is your conscience?

How about Deafhood Foundation? DBC Core Members are favoritism, .... you knew their attitudes. They are using YOU and DBC to raise funds and mix up with Deafhood plans.

Any concerns to this issue? It will affect Deaf babies if you ignore this issue.

It is true that there were many other events happening on the same weekend as DBC conference, and also other events on the next weekend.

What impressed me is that despite all those events happening around at the same time, there was a big turnout at DBC conference!

I'm mighty proud of our Deaf people! I know that those of our people who were not able to attend DBC conference were still with us in spirit!

I viewed your next vlog (interview and commentary), and it was great! I look forward to your next vlogs via RSS reader.

Hey Ruthie!!!!

You are so awesome and excellent job for trying to preserve Deaf history by film camera. We MUST focus on Deaf babies' RIGHT!!! We are in the part of two right now. We already honored those Deaf people to attempt to protect Deaf children's Right for having ASL during part of one in 1880 Milan.
