Needless to say, our TTYs are gathering dust as we switch to videophones, v-mails, e-mails, pagers, smartphones, IMs, etc.! What to do with this 20th century replica that takes up space on our kitchen counters and workspaces?! Here's a list of ideas!
101--9-1-1 Access: Video and Internet-based 9-1-1 access is coming. Until this is perfected, however, better not throw away this crucial lifeline to emergency services!
100--Message Stand: Prop up little index cards in between the rows on your TTY keyboard, which is next to your phone, right? These cards can contain phone messages for various hearing members of your family.
99--Dust Gatherer: It seems old TTYs collect more than their share of dust--meaning other parts of your house are cleaner?!
98--Typing Practice: 6 members in your family and "only" 5 computers? Let the youngest member practice his/her typing on your TTY!
97--Conversation Starter: At a loss for words with your friend? Point to your TTY and pretty soon stories about the last time it was used will abound!
96--Museum Starter: Always wanted to open a museum in your home? Now you have your first exhibit!
95--Hearing Kid Impresser: Even though TTYs have been around for more than 40 years, hearing kids (and some adults) are always wowed by TTYs, thinking they are some sort of futuristic technology!
94--Stain Blocker: Got an unremovable stain on your counter? Simply place your TTY over it--problem solved!
93--Paper Storage: Don't want to throw away your last roll of TTY paper? Keep it in the TTY printer!
92--Ego Booster: Want to look and feel important? Turn on your 'Auto Answer' and call your TTY several times, allowing the number of messages to display on the screen for all to see!
91--Paperweight: Love opening your windows to a breeze? Stack all your loose papers underneath your TTY!
For #90 to #1, visit any place that Former TTY Users (formerly known as Deaf people) tend to congregate, and you'll easily fill out the rest of this list!

I can think of use #90: doorstop!
At least hang on to them in case the internet blinks and its back to the good old ways of telephoning.
