Who says Deaf people cannot sing ASL? My 101th vlog…

Posted by chillygurlz on June 21, 2008

Hello all… How are u all? I am good here. Last week I just went to eye doctor to get prescription renew for my lenses for my glasses so I will have new lens next week. My lenses were 10 years old so it was due for an update. With my glasses on I was squinty so I needed new lens. Weather here been hot as usual in florida and we been getting good deal of rain. Hang on I got something to show you, I show the rain stick… Know what? I realized this is my 101th video since 8 months of vlogging… Cuz I been vlogging, my ASL has been improving a lot. I want to thank to all vloggers I watch, it has helped me a lot… Plus, to those new vloggers, welcome to our vlog family… U see the “mike” on my shirt, it cuz I will use my voice with my signs to sing a song, I just wanted to try and see if I can do it. Remember my first vlog I did back in November, I sang a song but I did lousy job at it. http://chillygurlz.wordpress.com/2007/11/25/my-first-vlog-with-a-song/

ASL Rocks… I am glad I am a vlogger and I watch ur vlogs so I can be part of deaf culture.

I have a message to tell you all. Who says deaf people can’t sing a song by using sign? If they wanted to they can use their voice and sign at the same time. Well I have something to tell u, those ppl who say “deaf ppl can’t do anything” YOU’RE WRONG… I’ll prove it… A lot of other vloggers have already proved it too. This song I will sing, it was sang by artist, Fabian, the title is “In this friendly world”. Hope you enjoy my song and my song is voiced and sign at same time. I really enjoy signing in sign…

In this friendly, friendly world,
With each day so full of joy.
Why should any heart be lonely.

In this friendly, friendly world,
With each night so full of dreams,
Why should any hear be afraid?

The world is such a wonderful place to wander through
When you’ve got someone you love to wander

along with you.

With the sky so full of stars,
And the river so full of song
Every heart should be so thankful

The world is such a wonderful place to wander through
When you’ve got someone you love to wander

along with you.
With the sky so full of stars,
And the river so full of song.
Every heart should be so thankful
Thankful for this friendly, friendly world.

    omg,

When I heard you singing that song Rita, I nearly cried it was so sweet. I remember that song from the movie “Man on the Moon”. You have a bit of a southern accent there hehe. Yes, the singer’s name is Fabian, I looked him up here’s the link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_(entertainer)

“His career in music basically ended with the payola scandal of the 1960s, when it was alleged that his records were doctored significantly to improve his voice.”

Sort of like the whole britney spears/ashley simpson lip synching thing these days.
