Where is American Sign Language?

A vlog discussion by Carl Schroeder: Carl discusses his summer reading and how two books in particular have changed his train of thoughts about American Sign Language. Deaf people need to talk more about ASL and record them.

Carl,

A delightful topic to discuss for a change! I agree that there should be a discussion on what ASL is in different dimensions... from the Deaf people of all walks of life, including from other countries. ASL IS more than linguistics. It is many things. I can name one. To me, ASL is a HEART language. It's a language of the soul; of the visual mind. ASL is so much more than what I've said so far. I guess I'm waxing philosphical tonight.

Hi Carl,

I find that very interesting and I want to get both of them.

To me, ASL is our Awakening Language. Without it, who the hell we are?

That also applies to other Sign Languages all over the world.
