HOVRS and MVP ( With Video )

June 19th, 2008 Posted in Deaf Community, News

As you know, HOVRS as Hands On Vrs ( www.hovrs.com ) is going to launch a new device called MVP, it will be available for the deaf community in upcoming months and I heard it is going to be a big promise better than VPAD that Viable, Inc lanuched last April 2008. I was browsing YouTube and found this video that someone recorded the converstation with a HOVRS Rep at the HQ in Califorina and I was shocked and watched the whole thing, wow. The MVP stands for Mobile Video Phone and it looks promising and I will be interested to give a try.

The video is below and it is approx. 6 minutes long.

What do you think? Thank god I didn’t bough VPad because its piece of crap as it doesn’t have wireless card, battery, etc. Then why they launch it out while it’s in beta? That’s unprofessional, doesn’t it? As you know international has this kind of service such as Sweden, Japan, China has these cool mobile phones allows you to see each other live in ream time. So I made a research, I found that they have better tower bandwidth that allow higher speed. In USA, we have network called GPRS, it’s very old and so slow, that is why phone companies cannot do like what international does.

I hope one day USA will be able to provide this kind of service to deaf community so we can be able to communicate with other people better and effectively. I do believe that we will have this kind will roll out maybe in within 5 years from now because it takes a lot of time, money, re-building the network to be able to meet that much of bandwidth.

As you know, it’s against FCC policy that any VRS providers will conveince you to use their service repeatly to get such free products like MVP or VP200 or whatever, it is not allowed because FCC says. FCC pays million dollars to Sorenson for repair, miles, minutes, VP installs and many more so what more VRS providers want from us? Remember FCC passed law that we do have CHOICE what VRS providers we want to use.

I still feel we do not have choice, yet!

Do you realize this is a scripted video clip? LOL - guess they did a good job after all.

Please prove that FCC really pays repairs. I do not think so.

this is the best marketing ploy since that fake video “founder cobra” had on her blog. Seriously… even you, the author of this blog, are so one sided on this article.

Did HOVRS paid you? or do you just like the extra hits on your blog in exchange for selling out?

p.s. i saw that rep often at deaf events.

    FYI for everyone:

    1) I didn’t make the video, it was found at YouTube and HOVRS already knowledge about this.

    2) HOVRS doesn’t pay me to do this.

    3) FCC does pay to all VRS providers and they use that money to cover all VRS services such as VRS Calls, Technical Support and others.

    4) Last, this video is real not scripted.

    Thank you!

Why didn’t you disclose that you work for HOVRS? It would be fair to readers if they were aware of that special fact when reading your post.

    Boys and Girls,

I do not work for HOVRS. The resume you saw says 2006-2007 which means I no LONGER work for HOVRS, please re-read it clearly. I made this post because I support HOVRS and want to share the news with the community what’s going on.

If you think the video is fake, call HOVRS Customer Care yourself and they will tell you it’s real.
