Audist Hysteria
An infamous Salem Witchcraft Trials put fourteen women and five men to death after the widespread of blaming. The Second Red Scare, McCarthyism, greatly oppressed the freedom of speech and caused many people to lose their jobs . Now, are we, the Deaf, creating another tragic event by labeling many hearing people as audists without educating them how they can be improved? The term "Audism" is not for us to use to blame, but to define our long-time oppression and mourn at its existence. Blaming hearing people that way would make them afraid of getting themselves more immersed in our culture. Put away your pointy finger and let them to fight with us for our freedom.

It isn't just hearing people who get the audist label, deaf people of differeing views get it too. It is important to note, 'Audism' is an 'American' concept, here in the UK we don't aspire to it, because we find such 'terms' divisive. People have used 'audism' as a wayof attacking people who disagree with them, so it has become a term of abuse. Are the British way ahead of the USA in this ? We dumped it day one... 'Audism' creates 'Audists' doesn't it ? just as much as it can ID them.

Wow...I like your vlog/blog about this important issue.
But, most people don't exactly use common sense when they react to certain situation.
Glad to know that you've express your view on that issue and hopefully, many people get the message from that issue.
Time to education these ignorance people about Deaf culture and it has way of the life.
