I think Deaf people have been separated for a long time. Deaf Village (or any one group, with maybe the eexception of AGB assn.) can’t do that. The hope of Deafhood is that we will eventually find a way to unite the Deaf.

Uniting deaf is going to be difficult if there are bans on sectors of it, ‘rules’ laid down on who is deaf and who isn’t etc. There are crunch areas like CI’s, ORALISM, D and d, very weird and wonderful descriptions of Audism (Deaf.read itself does not seem to know what it is via their tag system !), Signed English and ASL issues, regional variations, culture versus disability, the hill to climb is VERY steep, first get all these people in the same room, it makes sense of they are to find some level area to build on.

We can’t all keep fighting each OTHER for recognition and expect then a consensus of any kind, what hearing/mainstream make of it all I don’t know. The ‘blame culture’ left them alone a few years now we blame each other ! I think the live and let live pat statement ,has been blown out of the water by the deaf. It’s live and let live, SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT NOT HERE we are reading, which seems to have missed the point somewhat.

MM, I noticed that you attackted Deafhood because you are scared to change from the deafness to the Deafhood.

    good one above site.

“The use of the term Cultural diversity encompasses compasses the cultural differences that exist between people, such as language, dress and traditions, and the way societies organize themselves, their conception of morality and religion, and the way they interact with the environment.”

Does deaf community “dress and traditions” in America?

excellent reminder that we need to use media smarter and we are still learning. We have been colonized too long to learn how to take advantage of media power. Now we are getting there and yet, we have a lot of work ahead of us.

Media relish their own plantation mentality. They are like chameleons.
So I must agree with you that it is of utmost importance that the first people protesters must first notify are media a week or two in advance.

It is not true. Students protest got media first before IJK and JKF.

Media bought JKF’s “Not Deaf Enough” after,… How come it became boomed?

JKF said on my video documentary that “student protestor gave me the piece of paper list
about why she should not be president of gallaudet university ?” One of these lists that said
“Not Deaf Enough”. And She added her comment that “I do still have the paper in my office.”
I, Jerome Cain asked her to show me the paper that I can video to show it but JFK declined.

Likewise Mr Mowl said on my video documentary “JKF tried put the words in our mouth”
