Little stupid instruction for Deaf

I was craving for popcorn then I went and took the package of popcorn. I am not sure about microwaving it, read the instruction and found that it is pretty ridiculous for me to follow, since I am damn Deaf but on instruction, it told me to listen for popping sounds.

Screw it. I pushed a button, it says: popcorn. Ok, I wait for two minutes. Viola, I didn't burn any of popcorn.

Pretty stupid way to follow the instruction when it required the listening ear to know how soon it will be finished. I will be glad to eat burnt popcorn with lot of butter. Bon appetit!

I just watch the bag as it pops/jerks...then stop when the appropriate time passes.

Then I use the same popping time for the other bags (same box/brand). No problems at all!

I agree - this is so frustrating. How am I supposed to know when the popcorn's done?!? Well, I tend to put one of my hands on the microwave and "feel" for the pops. When I feel the pops slowing down, I take the bag out of the microwave. Voila! No burnt popcorn! Use our other enhanced senses, such as touch, to make microwave popcorn! :-)

I do the same thing as anonymous above. Put my hand on the side and wait until the popping slows down. But with smart microwaves today, I haven't burned popcorn in a long time :-)

I'm hearing and am sure I'll hear the popping as I walk away from the microwave to put a load of laundry in the washer, or go pick out a movie to watch while I eat the popcorn.

Usually it's the burnt smell and smoke alarm that lets me know when my popcorn's done. A raised eyebrow and "The Look" from my husband confirms it.

I should be smart and stand there to monitor the stuff, like you guys (gals) do.

Previous to my CI, I had to stand and watch the popcorn. I still burnt it. My son always had to be my ears.
