If u want u can explain why too!!! the ones i like, Helen Keller, Marlee Matlin, Kitty O’Neil (fastest deaf woman on earth) she done alot of different stunts like jump off a 10-story building, crashed cars, and other stunts… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitty_O%27Neil
Here is a list of famous/heroes deaf people, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_notable_deaf_people
Thomas Edison, he became deaf at a young age, Edison developed hearing problems at an early age. The cause of Edison’s deafness was from scarlet fever during childhood and recurring untreated middle ear infections. Around the middle of his career Edison attributed the hearing loss to being struck on the ears by a train conductor when his chemical lab in a boxcar caught fire, and was thrown off the train in Smiths Creek, Michigan, along with his apparatus and chemicals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Edison
I also have a book to show u, it called Deaf Heritage, by Jack R. Gannon… it a good histrical book to read about deaf community!!!
before i show u the old ABC sign from book, i want to tell u why i like Helen Keller? cuz she is deaf and blind and she made it through college wonderfully in the late 1800s and she has done alot too, when she was little, she lost her sight and hearing when she was a baby from illness. her parents did not know how to deal with Helen so they just let her do whatever she wanted to do while she grew up till she was about 7 then parents found someone who could help her, which was Anne Sullivan she came into Helen life to help her learn to speak and sign, of course her first word was Water… Helen grew up to be a wonderful lady and wrote books and went out, did lectures, went to college, traveled the world, so i liked her for that… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Keller
I would like to know your favorite deaf famous or heroes?
I also show from the book how they used to sign the ABC in the past and there was a deal about double hand ABC sign…

Kitty O’Neil went to the oral school where I used to go in Oklahoma. I met her at the reunion in 1979 for 50th anniversary. She was famous in car race. I voted her #1.

Phyllis Frelich is the greatest Deaf actress of all the time. I realise that you did not see her in Gallaudet’s productions, including “Medusa”. I do not know if Gallaudet has a tape of this play. You may search on the Internet. She
is a member of the NTD (National Theatre of the Deaf) and has done some roles in
motion pictures in Hollywood.
