That caused them to move to H street in DC? (curious)
I rather live in sweden because of less oppression than USA because of interpreter access.
How do I say to work on deaf baby's rights such as human rights to receive Sign Language?
How can that connect to social justice issue that related to deaf baby's rights ?
Hoped to get help that I can get to understand and be able to write a letter to fight for deaf baby's rights.
In Sweden, parents will get 1400 hours to learn sign language.
Any possible that DBC can fight that the parents can get some kind of hours and hours to learn sign language that way they can communicate with deaf child? But how how how ?
Unlike in Sweden,... Most of them in sweden believed in natural that deaf baby should benefits from sign language and be able to write in swedish and be able to speak if that person wishes to speak.
I think it is perfect example that USA should do...
What is more, America embarrassed me big time because USA can not do it what small country sweden can do it. Is it about shame?
Do not shoot me about sweden because of tax thing,... It IS NOT ABOUT TAX THING but they believed in benefit deaf baby's future to have both language! pardon my english.
How true! I recently had been pegged and questioned by several NAD members WHY I attended the DBC rally last summer 2007. I found the pursuit of questions to be offended and questionable.
I was often told that the DBC protested for the wrong reason. I pointed out to the AgBAD (AGBELL)'s non-statement (never issue statement) to clarify her own postiton that they never suppress any use of ASL during the AVT. How come? These NAD members were totally silenced.
Let the DBC do the protest in Miluakee!

NAD, CSD, etc. should NOT control or tell you what to do or how you act and whatnots. They should support DBC as long as DBC have a peaceful demonstration at anywhere that AGBell is at. DBC and Deaf people DON'T PROTEST nor OPPRESS anybody from AGBell or others. They're trying to educate and demonstrate that Deaf babies need visual ASL instead of full AVT. AVT can be included if the parents elect to do BUT ASL has to be included.
If NAD, CSD, etc. are trying to control us, obviously oppression may not go away ever. Not a very good move!
I'll support you, Deaf people and DBC anywhere.

I have been very involved with the NAD since the early '70's --as committee chair, Board Member, Staff Member and then again as Board Member. To the best of my knowledge, NAD has not ever said what you claim about people who plan to go to DBC/Milwaukee. In fact many folks who plan to be at
DBC/Milwaukee are themselves NAD members!
On NAD and the presidential campaign, IRS rules for 501c3 organizations
strictly prohibit partisan activities. This is why NAD cannot support
individual candidates who want to be the next US president. Still, NAD is
pushing ALL presidential candidates to caption their TV and web videos,
provide access at campaign events, etc. Last November NAD took part in a
presidential campaign forum; NAD hopes to be at a second such forum soon.
Federal funds do not support NAD advocacy activities. Support for this comes
from members and donors.
I agree with you completely. I really wish there could be a new organization that is pure. Similar to Black Panthers (nonviolence).

Hey there,
I like your reminder of history and the questionable of Black community and their influence of civil rights. Without their stands, where do we, Deaf people, stands?
I would like to add 2 things with your comments, the reminder to us to what happen in 1988! DPN. Maybe we don't feel the effects but take a look, as we, Deaf people, took the stands and demands to have a Deaf President at Gallaudet University. This the influence of the stands that lead us to have more degrees or a better jobs in American. That protest "scared" the hearing people but they listen to us and we weren't BULLIES. We speak up!
WITHOUT the DPN, who knows who will get the job at any Universities or Law Firm, or any other job that Deaf person dream of getting. Will we be stuck in the same old job or limit jobs?
Second comment here, Do you want a visual proof of how people took a stands? How about this: Watch the movie called "SICKO," by Micheal Moore. I know some of you don't like Micheal Moore but take the look: Not too long ago in Europe area, the goverment want to change the Health care system or make the budget changes that make people to pay "more." BUT the people and the doctors (believe it or not) came together and took the stands! What did the goverment do? They back off and leave it alone then say we reconizes the demands and the supports among the people's need. Are they BULLIES?
SO, I hope this "letter" show the support for the future protest against AGB even thou I couldn't be there.
Another thing I notice here, we Deaf people have grown to a better strong respectful people because we are able to learns!
Let me leave a question to you (Deaf people) who watch Carl's vlog:
Do you want to live in fear and suffer the fate of clueless people or the most BULLIES people for another 100 years?
It's up to you!

To Be Bullied or Not To be Bullied.
It's no question during the civil rights movement African Americans were victims of bullying. They themselves were bullied. Now you're saying they were considered "bullies"? Where does it say that in historical documents? I'd like to see it.
That true and I agree with you. Also, You are right that ingore to NAD and CSD. Hope Deaf people go to there at WISC this summer. I am forward to see new vlog about Wisc.

Yeah, NAD never helped me when I was faced discrimination and need their assistance or advice. All I was told, they're not helping me for various reasons.
NAD needs to be shut down and Deaf and HOH needs start their own organization like Blacks started NACCAP. Now, they're very powerful political force in Washington DC to protect their Civil Rights.
You're correct, we deaf must band united and strong regardless of their language ability (ASL, Cued, Oralism, etc) stand united and to Wisc this summer to support that ASL is necessary means to communicate with deaf babies.
All babies were born depending on their visual cues and cry to communicate because of no language development. Using ASL helped millions of babies of deaf parents, babies who were taught in ASL by parents who believed in ASL have grown so well in school and in life.
Hearing people are the worst oppressors on infirm, weak, disabled over the centuries and it looks like we the deaf are the last left to be oppressed by the hearies.
Enough! Finished! Gotta stop!
WE have the power in our hands using Blogs and Vlogs to get our message across in cyberworld telling the world that we deaf are now empowered and won't put up oppression anymore.
I wish I can go to Wisc, I have been out of work 6 months due to two major surgeries and my employer is getting antsy in getting me back soon as possible.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you people going to Wisc at AGBELL convention.

Yes! I will go for SURE! I will be leader for deaf bikers, Jack's Eyes called me thur VP, He asked do my favor. I GO FOR IT! Jack's Eyes will make videotape this weekend in WISC where is at campground then will put in his vlog announce on Monday.
