MZ,

So glad I made your day...

Judge,

Guess I should've charged them for a peep show, eh?

You could have responded to fire Dept when they asked need be treated? "Yeah if you have something to treat my deafness?"

perhaps because you replied back, "hey", they never thought about you being deaf.

lol, imagine them trying to work it out! :)

Honestly, I burst out laughing!

If they knew you was deaf, they could write a note and put under the door for you to see. They need to use their common senses.

LOL, poor thing... Could have opened the door a little and stick out your hand then sign with your index finger saying this "just a min".

good thing they did not bust the door. she might heard you saying something like help instead of hey... you could write a note and slip throught the door.

anyway i would open the door naked and sign "WHAT DO YOU WANT!"

Ah, what an experience you had! I would have been so freaked out if I saw a woman crawling under the dressing room to get my attention.

I would have talked to the manager to find out more details as to why it happened and why they called emergency as I don't like the feeling of not knowing exactly what happened. Did you have a chance to talk to the manager and ask them questions?

Hope it doesnt happen to you again. Which store did it happen? Cuz maybe it needs some media attention just like the Steak and Shake but up to you.

Michelle,

The manager did not exactly crawl under - she knelt and looked under..the stall door did not go all way down to the floor...it had a 8 inch gap off the floor.

The lady left a shirt in my stall. That was why she shook my stall door. I suspect she became aggravated when I failed to respond to her verbally (perhaps to ask me if I saw her shirt in the stall) and she became agitiated and begun to shake the door. That was when I used some verbal noise to let her know I'm there and not finished.

After the firemen left, the manager brought out several shirts left in the stall and the lady took one from the manager from which I suspect was the reason she approached my staff in the first place.

Why firemen came? Obviously my "noise" sounded like a plea for help??

The thing is the manager saw me and I was obviously perfectly fine. She didn't need to call? Sheesh.

DeafKathy,

I used the verbal noise many times before without any problems. This is the first time my "communication method" resulted in calling the fire dept. Next time, I might open the door and show my face...
