seeing any phone plans available from verizon that is data-only.
So far there are three wireless companies that provide data-only plans
that I'm aware of.
T-mobile (coverage sucks in the southeast, especially in the Johnson
City, TN area and carolinas)
Sprint (must verify deafness, to get unlimited data. However rumors of
the company going under are rampant due to lack of business and poor
customer service)
AT&T (comparable data-only plan but with a messaging limit of 5000 per
month. must verify deafness too. but has gotten me upset because plan
does not include iPhones or blackberries)
UPDATE: my mistake, I thought Sprint Relay had to verify deafness but they don't.

I have AT&T Tilt and I love it so far. You might want to check it out. Yes, I had to have my doctor to sign to verify that I'm deaf, but it wasn't hard thing to do.

One more thing... I contacted Verizon about the data plan only a few months ago, and they said that most of the cell phone and PDAs are compitable with TTY (a TTY with a plug in cell), so they don't grant you a data plan only. Verizon is not a deaf friendly company.

Interesting to read some comments. I find it strange because I personally talk directly with a manager of Verizon in my local town. They said they can give me a data plan but will not give me $100.00 or $150.00 off on pager. Trick deal. I guess it is their loss. I told them that it is not fair. Manager see my point and nodded but can't help. It is Verizon business.
i have at&t tilt. i love it. i use direct push email acct under mail2web.com which is free service. it is much better than blackberry server in my opinion because bb server goes down more often which isnt worth for me. at%t mobility offers two TAPs to deaf subscribers. 30 dollars for unlimited data and 5k texts and 35 dollars for unlimited data and unlimited texts. iphone and bb arent accepted to TAP. at&t has talked with apple over tap on iphone because apple authorizes the plans for iphone. that sucks ! and blackberry server is very expensive. that is why there is no TAP on any bb device. remember at&t does offer several different plan for bb device starting at 29.99 dollars and up. if i am hard core bb fan, i wud choose 40 dollars a month. but i love windows mobile device like at&t tilt. i suggest u not to use iphone. its on-screen keyboard sucks. so tiny for my fat thumbs. :) i have a lot of deaf friends in my town that have at&t tilt, motorola q9h, samsung blackjack, and samsung blackjack2. of course, some have sprint mobiles. they are happy with them too. beware: t-mobile doesnt offer special plan for window mobile mobile owners. i have some deaf friends are stucked with that pda plan - 45 a month since they transfered themselves from sidekick plan.
