Here is my fourth blog after I posted several blogs previous time.  I want to share with you about my experience is relationship with a former elementary teacher about 14 years ago.  I wish I have to tell you if a person is remind me of role by my former elementary teacher last year.  I never gonna share with you until I am ready to share with you related to one's memory experience.  I am sure some of you feel surprise the truth about the situation between faculty and students in public school during 90s.  I know there's should alert if any one has happen to students before Jane K. Fernandes did to students but no one knows the future.

In 1993 to 1994, I am one of six students in 1st-2nd grade class and under a elementary teacher named Ms. Susan Gonzalez.  Some of us were deaf and different color students.  We never heard of a new teacher who is gonna join in our school until the first day of class.  One staff told me that she moved from East Coast and graduated from Gallaudet College in late 80s.  But I am not sure 100% because others told me she raised in hearing community before.  It seems like none of faculty told me about a new teacher until we found out her name on the day.  On the first day of class, I was in the classroom with other students, also, surprised Ms. Gonzalez was here because only she is a new face to me.  Most of us were nervous if we like to know more about her, once she is wiling to introduce herself.  During the class, we shall to pay attention what Ms. Gonzalez lectures include explain about the rules.  But some of us were hard to accept her general and rules for our class through months.  Once, Ms. Gonzalez required us to do follow her contents, such as assignments, activities, and etc.  If we do not follow their requirement every time, she could give us detention like no recess at anytime.  I had a thought what she said to me as a warning if I was doing wrong in the classroom or school bus.  But it seems if most of us continued to not follow her demand, we would have no warning from Ms. Gonzalez.  Later, Ms. Rita Foti and Ms. Beatrice Worthen's class visited us in the classroom and gave Ms. Gonzalez to smile all the time.  We had a feeling funny what other people did not know Ms. Gonzalez was doing in the classroom.  Most times at any students' birthday or other event parties, only we have be with other class or teachers before Ms. Gonzalez arrived at time.  Then other people helped or worked for us to doing during the party, not even she have to if she is one responsbile of our class.  After some of us were getting trouble from school bus or project insight or other incident, Ms. Susan Gonzalez became mad and blew out at us, also, some of them were crying and upset but not me.  No one would sorry and try to students' understandable after order to Ms. Gonzalez' aide and interpeter.  She always informed their parents but other students did not do few while she told them all the story.  I did realize some students upset and talk to me what Ms. Gonzales try to do big concern at them.  I explained to them that they must understand every teachers had individuals and Ms. Gonzalez is a strict teacher.  We shall respect and listen her rules all the time.  Later, I figured out there's bit little about happening, Ms. Gonzalez visited other classes most times, talked about us happened in the classroom.  They thought she is a good teacher what she is doing in the classroom.  But not true, we believed she should not try to do hard time on us, some of them had not feeling form her personality.  One time, there are complicated situations, first is some of us are doing wrong outside, give us detention but only one person not because she had disability, second is some of us are doing wrong inside school, give us detention but only one person not because she is white, third is some of use are doing wrong in the classrom, give us detention but only few people not because they are hard of hearing.  It means hurt our disability, colors, and deaf culture but we did not know it facts when we were young.  Some of them talked to others outside of class, every Ms. Gonzalez found them if they had problems with them.  One time, Ms. Gonzales warned us to not rumor for everything, keep our behave every time outside which required by her rules.  Later, one student who had a disability told her mother or someone about Ms. Gonzales.  Then her mother or someone came to her classroom, discussed with her at time make few solution, shall helped one student better.  One day, few of them talked to me sometimes what Ms. Gonzales try to do but I have no idea until I find out.  Someone suggested one student join Ms. Beatrice Worthen's class which is part of activities and field trip.  I thought she liked to learned a lot or interested in other class.  But not only, someone told me something good reason why she joined other class sometimes, break from Ms. Gonzalez.  There's something I was not pleasant what we learned from Ms. Gonzalez did to one student after thought she feel sorry to her if we had problem with other student.  Sometimes, we made mistake and try to care more about someone, learned a lesson.  But once Ms. Gonzalez give us no excuse what we did, also, we should understand from her.  It not enough clearly what she explained to me if I moved to other class next fall.  Ms. Gonzalez talked to me about getting know into Ms. Worthen's class.  But I believed Ms. Worthen is a good teacher to students but few I learned.  At end of spring, I did not know why I moved to Ms. Beatrice's class early, find out Ms. Gonzalez prefer me to leave from our class.  Some of them told me she did not like my way or something because she recongized who I am.  I am glad I am not in her class anymore, it enough for me to hear from Ms. Gonzalez.  I did not remember if I did told other students about Ms. Gonzalez make her fraustated with me.  I learned some from her personality who lack of involved any or relationship, it seems her focus on herself and what she wants, get other like her personality way.  Since we thought she did involve deaf or color community, not only we know enough about her.  While I was in Ms. Worthen's class, few of us discuss about Ms. Gonzalez, some I learned from them as well.

After 1994, I was almost moved on and stayed in Ms. Worthen's class through months.  I am sure Ms. Worthen is good to us and some I know she is a little strict teacher.  She taught us to serious study and responsible a lot like complete assignments.  More than I do, I involved some groups, activities, field trip, and other, also, accepted if Ms. Gonzalez's class join us to party and field trip.  I try to understand from other's feeling about Ms. Gonzalez who proud of herself in class.  It makes us thought she is better teacher than before and was doing to other students.  But they did not like what Ms. Gonzalez try to, not do anything because she did not want us to see her doing again.  After that, I knew several secretly what Ms. Gonzalez was doing to their students at some place, such as classroom.  Few of them transferred out and joined our class later, ever Ms. Gonzalez was enjoying with other students who joined her class.  I was focus on my studies and continue to participate activities through months.  Some of us were not feeling bothered when we were in Ms. Worthen's class, but only Ms. Gonzalez visited to our events.  Nearly finish elementary school, someone found Ms. Gonzalez did something makes us to surprise more situations.  Ms. Beatrice Worthen argue with Ms. Gonzalez in front of us in classroom.  It makes me sad the incident between two of them and learned about Ms. Gonzalez what she did or who she is.  Most of us did not like her anymore and not want to see her again.  In result, some students transferred to other schools while I joined CSD Fremont in fall of 1997.  Ms. Worthen and Ms. Gonzalez did not work at school anymore, only left Ms. Rita Foti's class plus other one new teacher for other class.  I am glad I was move on and joined new life at CSD Fremont.

In early 2000s, I learned a lot from old classmate who told the story about Ms. Gonzalez returned to local school.  She joined local school where my old classmate attended high school.  She had a hard time with Ms. Gonzalez include other old classmate.  Ms. Gonzlaez is more stricter teacher and doing to students what they do not like her way.  Most of students started to speak out about her but it seems give them impatient at time.  Finally, Ms. Gonzalez resigned from local school after deaf students fought against her for months.  I believed that Ms. Gonzalez knew she accepted from her mistake after control students wrongfully through years.  Most students try to get her attention if she could do right but she kept refuse to change herself.  Then they realized she may not right for students.  Ever Ms. Gonzalez refuse to listen students what they wanted until they fought through time.  Later, Ms. Gonzalez already resigned and headed to focus on her studies.

Right now, I had a strong feeling about my memory experience what I learned, I can identify her personaility like a role of Jane K. Fernandes.  From my understanable, Ms. Gonzalez may have lack of relationship with community make success, not good thing if she did something not right to students.  Remember, I explained that several things that she should have relationship with deaf and color community make other people like her as well.   But not happned, we wondered she should not doing make us impatient at time.  If she would became good teacher or leader, it shall her to be knowledge or better relationship with community.  I surprised how she is one who similar to Jane K. Fernandes who used to work as a provost.  Then we never like Jane K. Fernandes became 9th president of Gallaudet University if she did not doing strong relationship with community.  I realized many students struggled to fight against Jane K. Fernandes, they did not have an experience like one in the past year.  But only I know what my experience is, it shall warn people to know whether they chose person who became a leader.  During before 2000s, many people did not know other people had experience, did not let deaf community know.  Because there's no pager, not much access communication technology for deaf, only way to mail or deaf magazine.  It seems that hard to people know about someone then disencourage her or him became a leader in 2000s.  More than last year, more deaf people already informed others about special peopls whether should became a leader or not.  Also, explained why Jane K. Fernandes should not became 9th president of Gallaudet University in front of people.  We learned that it may too late to reach information if we never warn other people in 2000s.  Once you know Jane K. Fernandes became provost make us surprise she moved to next level.  Before that not many people know about her as well due to not enough communication networks.  We felt that no one likes to let us know about her who worked at campus before is simply to no one told me about Ms. Gonzalez.  It seems that due to privacy information if she prefer to not inform deaf people in school.  That's surprise thing if Ms. Gonzalez had relationship with deaf community or deaf enough but not always.  No one said about her whether if she is deaf enough or not.  During in 2000s, I learned more about Ms. Gonzalez is doing before she joined in this school.  One thing, someone commented that she came to San Francisco Bay Area and started new teach at deaf class.  It supported learning speech or lipread by her whom encourage us to attend speech therapy.  Once she required us to attended speech therapy or language is part of her content but some of us struggle with learning speech as well.  That's make me confusion what she tried to doing here, she had doing her own time before studied to become a lawyer.  I knew most deaf people tried to support ASL in San Francisco schools, ever Ms. Gonzalez encouraged some students to learn speech plus hard of hearing who would have better talking if she could help.  After 2000s, more people started to support ASL and use it all the time, it makes other people noticed it is great place for deaf people communicate better.

Pleasejust put comment or ask me any questions, I will happy to share more with you if you want to know.  Any you had a thought if you had experience like mine who told about a person is similar to role of Jane K. Fernandes?
