susan: The vlog is interesting. I know some deaf friends at deafloves.com. Some hearings are interested in deaf as well.

Joe: The Vlog brings up some interesting points but we should remember that it is only one viewpoint. I've been hard of hearing since birth but despite my disability, I've learned to adapt to the hearing world. My wife is hearing, my three children are all hearing which makes things a bit difficult for me at times. BUT I wouldn't change it for anything. The hearing status of my family is irrelevant because the fact that we communicate is more important than how we communicate. If you want to communicate, you'll find a way. Prime example: look up locked-in syndrome on the Internet and you'll see that even with the most severe disability, people will find a way to communicate. Communication is the wheel that allows marriage to work, not hearing status. If you've had bad experiences, it just means you've met some pretty ignorant people, deaf or hearing.

Jessica: I disagree with philip. Im deaf myself and am dating a hearing man. he's wonderful and he's taking his time learning sign language. I've experienced dating deaf men and they don't work out. I've also dated hearing men and they dont work out. It depends on who they are no matter what status they are deaf or hearing, racial backgrounds and all that. We are human it doesnt matter who can or can't hear as long as you take time to get to know them. Dating deaf to deaf doesnt work depending on who it is and plus deaf community is small and rumors spread alot easily and it ruins relationships. So the point is date someone that you feel comfy with and it takes time to build relationships.

Tina: That is interesting....I have been married for 30 years to a hearing man - I am totally deaf and our marriage is strong! We go to both hearing and deaf centered socials and we don't have any problems with that. We also have two sons taht use ASL as well. It doesn't matter who you can date and we just fell in love. Yes, it takes a good advantage for a hearing to use sign language and be able to communite in my world but we have some friends that are hearings and they know some language that they learned when they were in high school. Jose: Everybody whose a deaf ppl does still needs find a dating, Better use a Internet for deaf date programs and MySpace will find one 4 u as no matter where they live come from, Get a Rider and Planes and trains and Bus and Cars travel to meet them a real ife, If Not working out then keep find another one will rest yurs life , If u dont undy it then ASK to Lauren Good Luck!

Ali: Deaf/Hearing dating. I've had no bad experience. I do agree it takes time/patience. It's an investment that both parties needs to work together. It can be successful if time invested & both parties work on it together. I am married to a deaf man, am deaf myself but the reason I married him is because I love him. Not because he is deaf. Sure it's easier to communicate, but I disagree with Phillip: Date only deaf to deaf. Most of the time it does not work. Most deaf couples I know have ended in divorce. Time, patience and love works whether relationship is hearing to deaf, deaf to deaf, hearing to hearing.

Eric: I learned some new things here! I have heard about the issue of deaf-centered vs. hearing-centered relationships only once before. Please talk more about topic of deaf dating. Chuck: Again, you marveled us! So articulate throughout news or essay, whatever you call _ editorial piece? I could break down a list of reasons of why you are as a great ASL-orator but not here. Here the topic; dating and relationships: I have read several books and articles is that most of time in the relationships of inter-race, inter-faith, or even in wide difference of age, usually terminated. I noticed that they all have same percentage; 25% succeeded and 75% failed. It looks to be sad but a cold truth; unless, like you said, it takes time, patience, and sacrifice, it would thrive. It has to be a careful decision making before doing so. Your subject is well mentioned, tho.

Phillip: Well, im disargeed with mixed dating. i got alot of comments from who have bad experiences between deaf and hearing couples. Even I got few bad experiences too. Deaf and Deaf are better couples than hearing. Because it is easy to communication 24/7 while using asl, most hearing do that? Deaf couples are understand easily each other's deep feeling, most hearing do that? I have many good questions about between deaf and hearing couples. I suggest y'all who are deaf to dating with deaf people only. just try find one in different states, online and etcs. Be careful, dont let your eyes decieving on you!

Philip: I have two comments. In most cases, what I have seen is hearing adapt to the deaf community. How many adapt to the hearing community? In most cases, I adapt to the hearing community. Second point which was missing, age. Can not find, deaf or hearing, keeping up with my life style. I am 62 years old and have energy of a 40 year old. Thus I've been seeking females in the 40's. Has it worked? Some time yes, many times no. Younger women tend not to be interested in guys more than 10 years of their age. You speak of cultural differences, my case has been age gap differences.
