For Australian Deaf People - On Deaf Bilingual Coalition

Hi,

thought I'd share with you about Deaf Bilingual Coalition, it's been recently established in the US, with the aim of educating hearing people, organisations and parents about the necessity of providing sign language to deaf babies.

In the video (Auslan, with subtitles), I've also covered the greatest irony regarding sign language being encouraged for hearing babies, yet denied for deaf babies, as shared by Amy Cohen Efron.

DBC, you have my full support.

Auslan VLog (with subtitles, 3 minutes in length):

(google keeps mucking up the pacing of subtitles... please have patience while I try to correct it!! :)

(edit... I've finally got the subtitles right... I think! :D)

NIce Nice and I wish your video has access to full screen as this one is tiny subtitles hard to read with small screen. : )

dst: thanks :)

anonymous 12:04: sorry about the subtitles being tiny... I thought so too, I can't find the code in videogoogle to make it bigger. If anyone knows how, please let me know! :)

You can click on the google logo in my vlog, and it'll take you to a full windsow size (almost) of my vlog, the subtitles should be a bit more easier to read there.

I am grateful to your willingness to translate the latest of DBC with your country. I hope others from different countries will do a favor by translating for the Deaf community in their own country like you did. May Deaf Bilingual Coalition go abroad!

mule: thanks... just doing my bit :)

Katherine: yes, it'll be great to see international deaf people covering this topic in their sign language :D

anonymous 8:35pm: I agree with you. I didn't expect google to make the subtitles so tiny! :)

I did a youtube video with bigger subtitles... problem is I forgot to put black outlines around the yellow text, so it's a bit hard to see, but probably easier to read than this one. It's in here
