June 28, 2007 at 10:25 am
And, now what? Who are you going to send it to?
Just curious.
June 28, 2007 at 10:38 am
I e-mailed it to my friends. I’m hoping you guys will do the same, and rate it on YouTube. That way, we will get attention to our cause. If enough people view it and rate it, it’ll work.
I am also working with Dennis on a website. When that’s completed, we’ll put the video there as well.
June 28, 2007 at 10:52 am
agree with you, i live in Canada, we are deaf. I think Canadian deaf people deserve Equal Communication Access in Canada.
June 28, 2007 at 11:16 am

June 28, 2007 at 11:31 am

Is there a way to make the movie website link shorter so it would be easy for us to send it to our friends/families? I tried sending it to my husband at his work and he couldn’t open the website link.

June 28, 2007 at 4:23 pm
Did you pick Ludwig van Beethoven because he’s deaf?
June 28, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Ha. No, I chose him because that’s what I had in my sample music. *grins* I didn’t remember he was deaf, but now that you mention it, maybe there was a reason why I added him! It definitely adds some irony to the video!
June 28, 2007 at 6:06 pm
I loved that background music!
June 28, 2007 at 7:00 pm
Glad the music was a good choice. My hearing aid broke a while ago, so I have NO idea what it sounds like.
But I know orchestral music are used a lot in movies, so I thought it would be a good fit.

Yea, now that you are done I think of this - you should add a url for more information at the end.
for example http://deafpundit.wordpress.com/2007/06/02/communication-access-now/
Or a special one setup with ways to get more information on rights, responsibilities and resources and a thank you
(sounds like a baptist sermon - three points and a prayer)
I can probably find some webspace if you need it.
June 28, 2007 at 9:07 pm
We got a website… Dennis and I just gotta work on it.
June 28, 2007 at 9:15 pm

June 30, 2007 at 11:22 am
Bill puts me to shame - could you teach me MySQL and PHP?
I know little about XHTML/CSS! I’d love to learn more when I have the nerve to move to wordpress.

June 30, 2007 at 6:16 pm
IamMine, I am willing to share whatever I know! I love to learn, and love to share.
The youtube video is up to 23 “5 star” ratings (24, somehow my original must not have taken), and 1,292 views!
June 30, 2007 at 6:51 pm
Yup… My ‘Without Further Ado’ post has gotten a total of 1,233 hits. And ever since I posted that, my blog itself has gotten 1,733 hits.
June 30, 2007 at 11:35 pm
Loved it, Loved it loved it! Did I say I loved it?!?!
Someone asked where it should be used. I would suggest sending to as many deaf folks as possible and when we encounter a business or a program or whatever that is not communication accessible we send this to the directors or the powers that be in that program and give them notice!
Might have been good to add some age and racial diversity but still.. loved it!
Just to make sure you got my point…
I LOVED IT!
June 30, 2007 at 11:38 pm
Glad you loved it, Gally82.
I tried my best to get racial and age diversity in.
Hopefully if there is a next time, you can help with that?
July 1, 2007 at 7:37 am
*snickers*
Gally82 would have added a very nice spice to the video… you should see her new hairdo and she looks goooooooood!
Well, next time…and pay more attention to Deaf Pundit’s projects!

We are very dependent upon CC movies, Video Relay operators, certified interpreters for meetings, etc. We are living an an era of greater acceptance of Deaf Culture by the hearing population. Your video send the right and clear message to have equal communication access. Beautiful job!!! High Fives to all!
