Schools for Deaf and Blind needs new chief
The superintendent of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind is retiring, and a national search is under way to find a permanent replacement.
Linda Rutledge, superintendent for the past three years, will retire June 22.
Timothy W. Smith, superintendent of the South Summit School District, was named the school’s interim superintendent by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Patti Harrington. He has worked as a principal and a coach and teacher of English, French, health and math.
