ARE YOU SAFE FROM DEAF HACKER(S)?
I’ve decided to write this short blog in response to several comments on someone announcing someone’s IP address on my blog and incidents of someone hacking into another blogger on another blog, etc.
First of all, it appears that someone out there is lurking in deaf blogs or vlogs.Â
There seem to be someone who is posting fake name/fake email address/and pretending to be one of known bloggers.
Some bloggers are concerned about safety of their computer.Â
I’m not a computer expert but I know enough to protect myself. (I don’t have degree in computer science).
There is one site that is very very good. It will scan your computer to make sure you are protected. It will see if your computer is stealth or not. it’s called grc.com click on shieldsup and it will check to see if you have any vulnerability for hackers to get into your computer. If you are not sure if you should click on it.  Do your own research on that company and decide for yourself. I found it to be very valuable for me.
USE FIREWALL!  There are lots of free firewall software online.
If you have ROUTER (most vp sorenson comes with router), most router has internal hardware firewall.
If you have AOL, use it, AOL uses proxy.
There is a software out there that changes your IP address randomly so that a hacker never knows what your real IP address is.
I’m sure there are lots more way to protect yourself! That is the first step we all should take, is to protect our computer.Â
Have a good day~

Windows XP has the firewall (Windows Firewall) and use Anti-Virus/Internet Security software which is recommended because I used to get the free firewall and anti-virus program but it turn out a bad program and not do any good.
For example: I downloaded a free spyware and it didn’t do good because it CONTAINS adware. I bought spysweeper that goes with my computer.
You’re right, not all freewares are safe. I always do a lot of research before I download any software.
I also want to bring up some important thing to consider. Your video phone (VP) IP number that you give out to your friends and familes is the one you have to protect with your life! That is your real IP address.
I notice Anonymous appeared to mention james stephen kittell.

I know who spoofs me ! and one is a deaf geek too. So far I’ve edited out 11 alias’ from these people, who have impersonated me, my blog, my addy, done 6 variations to infer I make comments I don’t etc, , imitated a young child, gone from male to female, and back again, has changed blog sites 8 times ,and addy’s about 18 so far. It’s pretty pointless as track backs show who they are, I just zap’em if they get through, most don’t. They zeroed my original blogs, when I wasn’t clued up, and I lost membership of one deaf group because they impersonated me and sent filth in…
Chris H: I notice that too, but I believe someone is impersonating SK.
MM: If you can zap em all, go for it!
I am quite a newby with blogs/vlogs and at first I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about re anonymous, etc. I’m a strong believer of not censoring things. Now, that it happened to me, I understand - clear!. I truly feel that it is such a travesty for something like that to occur, especially when deaf world is so small.
I hope some deaf computer geek out there can educate us all more about keeping our computer safe. This would be a great tool for us all to keep learning about.
It would be neat if we can find out how to track those culprits down. I’ve found that it is quite hard. I can locate the name of the company that provides IP anonymously to the perp, but I can’t get the person’s name. Not a geek yet, I guess.
lol you’re a dumb shit firewall or not i still can destroy you
bryan
p.s. its not that hard to find out who’s the IP address is
er before you idiots think i was the one whos been doing whatever has been happening to you, no i did not and i have nothing to do with what happened

Beats me why ISP’s don’t notice when multiple alias’ are being used, from one computer. Blogger must be aware of it too. The only thing that really annoys me now, is having to edit them outta site every other day, it’s a nuisance. We should name and shame, but proof is difficult, even when the gut feeling is you KNOW who it is. It’s online bullying and if you were a child they would do something about it, so why not adults too ? The technology IS there to identify, time they used it. An autism site in Britain was hacked into and had to close for a month. There are some reallyt sick people out there.
bryan, if you have anything to share that would help deafread bloggers and vloggers, please do.
Why not share your wealth of knowledge on how to prevent hackers from creating havoc?
Firewall is not 100% effective, but it helps. This is why I mentioned http://www.grc.com. That site will tell computer users if their computer is stealth or not. Why not help us all, eh?
I KNOW THE SHIT OF THE DEAF HACKERS —— BRYAN, AMBOO, MIKE, VPIPOV, ROB, RYAN, CINNA, OUTER, DARK SUN, SMOOTH, I’m going to destroy your assholes to HELL!

Sorry if it took me a while to reply, I’m pretty sure this is a late comment, really late. I was a child once, I was immature and I am now a grown up kid. I believe that everyone deserve their own protection, their own security. Yes, use firewall. There may be some possibilities that some people can bypass it, but less chance that you will ever come up with that person. I can suggest Avast! because it has its own free edition and works just as well as the not free one. If you use wireless router, I always tell people to set up the password for the router. If you are just as paranoid about your security as I am, you can use proxies while surfing the internet, google for them, there are a lot. It’s not that hard to keep yourself protected, not that easy too but really, use your common sense. It’s a good weapon, your common sense.
It’s a good tool, your common sense.*
