23 04 2007ASL Video - Approx 1:30 Minutes Long
Note: ISP = Internet Service Provider such as cable or DSL provider (Comcast, AT&T, AOL, etc.)
Someone asked if we can use Treo 700wx or another PDA-type device as ISP at home computer if you don’t have internet access. The short answer is yes.
Will it be fast enough to run such as videophone? No, not with this device but with wireless PMCIA card (must be Rev. A) — it is possible.

I have use my treo 700p as modem plug to my laptop. It’s closer good as it get on iChat for video conversation. It’s rare that HOVRS agent tell me that I being appear in bad picture.
It would be good to show pictures or video of such a hook-up, including samples of the quality of the video.
Carrying it further, why not simply carry a small laptop with webcam and use it as a portable internet server, with features like the Blackberry or the Sidekick, but also as a videophone? Pay one server fee per month and combine the internet, email and phone in one? Or is that still in the future?
Lukcy you guys. with my particular phone, samsung i500 via sprint. i am not allowed to use it as a modem for my laptop because it uses the voice band, which is not good. hogs it up. it can be done, and i have used it before, but i rather not risk it to get red flag and suspend my account.
