That is cool!
I am sad you ignored my response but it is ok lol.
Just kidding of course. I simply LOVE Jay because he is a philosopher and I love to philosophize at times.

I commented, and thought this was moderated, and then realized maybe my comment got lost in the techno-twilight-zone. So I will try again… 2nd time is a charm?

Anyway, I appreciated all the comments and different perspectives on my vlog. The most eye-opener was Allen’s comment — made me realize I maybe am truly a grassroot. I am damn proud of that. Thanks Allen.

In any case, most of the comments focus on the actual definition of the grassroot and discussed the fact that we all are grassroots in some form.

However, what I really wanted to point out, just like you just pointed out, that there ARE Deaf folks that say “look there, they are grassroots”, or “I dont wanna go, there are grassroots there”, etc. In this context, the word grassroots are used differently — sometimes in such a “degrading” form.

It is from that position I wanted to demonstrate that grassroots are such valuable folks, however they are grouped, labeled, or whatever, to the Deaf Community.

Thanks for doing this vLog!

yup, that is what I always thought grassroots meant. Someone who grew up in the area and knows the history, issues, etc. It seems like I find so far two different general meanings that people use for that word, depending on the context.
