Gallaudet University is operated by the Administration and Operations Manual. The A&O Manual clearly identifes President, Provost and Vice President for Administration and Financing as the top administrators. Since Gallaudet University is raising funds for SLCC, all money donations would go through the office of Paul Kelly, no? It’s therefore my wildest possible guess that Paul Kelly is it when it comes to SLCC.
In his fall 2005 announcement, Jordan said that SLCC was THE reason he decided to retire early. To organise the SLCC, he explained, would require seven years or thereabouts. So he figured out that it would be best if he would retire in order to let the next president would complete the plan. In my mind, Jordan must have Fernandes in mind as the next presdient because Fernandes herself founded the cochlear implant center in Fall 2000. So when Fernandes ran for president and in her Open Forum presentation on April 21st,
2006, she laid out what she had planned for SLCC. I said to myself: “How clairvoyant I was in the fall of 2005!” It is clear that Jordan wanted his right hand Fernandes to design SLCC to meet his dream. Remember that Jordan said he was Fernandes’s mentor (heir).
GU Kellogg Conference Center was also designed by Jordan. Paul Kelly was behind it.
However, since Kelly is leaving in June and since Fernadnes is not here, I do not know who will organise SLCC for the next seven years (Davila is staying for 18 months or so).
Revisiting the floor plans of the SLCC could be done with the emergency meeting with Gallaudet alumnus and Gallaudet community what to do about the existing floor plans.
Legal injunction from the court will FORCE the hands of Paul Kelly and other involved individuals to revist and revamp the floor plans for the SLCC. Or set up the formal meeting with the Gallaudet adminstration and Gallaudet community ASAP.
The Gallaudet Archives supposed to be housed within the new SLCC. Somehow, the Archives relocation had been not successfully implented. Jane Fernandes managed to please the Gallaudet Archives staff with the timely overdue archive modulation equipment to store archival stuff.
The time for the Gallaudet Archives to shine bright, instead of housing itself in the dark burrow of Gallaudet campus. Deaf history needs to come to life!
The Deaf/deaf historical stuff need to be well-preserved, instead of housing in the quesitonable facility like the current Merrill Learning Center (Gallaudet Library).

HE COULD NOT SPEAK AT ALL. HE WENT TO PRE SCHOOL DAILY WHEN HE WAS 3 YRS. OF AGE THRU KINDERGARTEN WHO HELPED TO IMPROVE HIS HEARING AS WELL AS TO SPEAK WITH THE HELP OF SIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS. NOW AT THE AGE OF 6, HE IS THE BRIGHTEST BOY IN HIS CLASS, ASKS SO MANY QUESTIONS, GIFTED WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR AND SHOWS ALOT OF APPRECIATION FOR MANY THINGS.
WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY IN THIS WORLD AND I RECENTLY RECEIVED MY FIRST SORENSON VRS WHICH I AM THRILLED TO HAVE. TO BE ABLE TO SEE MY FAMILY AND TO TALK WITH THEM FROM LONG DISTANCES IS THE GREATEST THRILL OF MY LIFE.
