TIME for ACTION, enuff with talks!! Host the press conference outside the Gallaudet University to question the validity of the SLCC building design and real agenda/motive behind the ideas of the SLCC!
Do you want me to go to the court to get the legal injunction to halt the construction of SLCC by next week or what?? I really do not know the current status of the SLCC construction development right now. Please share with all of us what is really going on with the land development for building the evil of audism!

I have a question in regards to SLCC. Based on the name of the center (Sorsenson Language Community Center), the center is funded 100% by Sorsenson corporation. Is this correct? If so then the reason why the center is design and run the way it is is because Sorsenson wanted it that way. They made have attached a guidelines along with the funds on how SLCC should be operated. If that is the case, then there is basically nothing anyone can do. If the Gallaudet University is not happy with the SLCC design and the way it is operated, then they must meet with the Sorsensoon people to see if they can change to concept and design of SLCC. It is important to know whether all the funds allocated to SLCC is restricted or not by Sorsenson Corp.
Hello–Naturally, I am concerned about the usurge of audism and want the world to be aware of it. However, I have a small request–spell out the names of the places you mention in your vlogs/blogs.
For example, when some people saw SLCC, a few e mailed me asking me if this was where I worked–Salt Lake Community College. After I viewed the vlog, I was able to tell them–No, it’s the Sorenson Language and Communication Center at Gallaudet.
if ASL dept is not given equal footing, then we need to explore some other strategies.
if you look at gally’s website, you will see the excerpt-
“The University also enjoys international renown for its research on the history, language, and culture of deaf people.”
but if the money is going to audist practices or elsewhere, then they are playing us for fools again.
call a spade a spade or we can just lie to everyone?
I had trouble watching your presentation due to the distraction of your Skull & Bones T-Shirt. Thanks for the presentation, though. I love your ASL, as always.
if it is true about what you were saying… then many many many hearies will have the jobs… more oralists and non signers on the Gally campus…. you see them in cafe, parking lots, mall, etc… they will talk orally…. leaves you OUT….
I wonder why SLCC names after James Sorenson? Was he graduated at Gallaudet University formerly? Is he deaf? My opinion is it shouldn\’t name SLCC after him because he still lives and he doesn\’t involve deaf community. Does he understand fully about deaf culture, ASL, and history? I suggest you all (fac,students,staff,alumni,parents) discuss about the name need to change instead of James Sorenson.
Gallaudet University makes the right decision to name SLCC after James Lee Sorenson because he gave (still gives) away thousand videophones to all deaf/HH people and donated millions of dollars to Gallaudet University plus videophone boothes, hired all deaf trainers/installers, hired trained interpreters for our free long distance calls, and many more…Wow…Thanks James Lee Sorenson for his big generous, thoughtfullness, beautiful heart to help all Deaf communities to pah open their communication to anywhere in the world. The building (idea/plan/design) was decided by the Gallaudet University faculty/staff include M.J., Cathy S.Windham, Jane Norman, Carolyn Caskett-Henry, JKF, and few more because they discussed what they were going to do with Sorenson’s millions of dollars. Hope that helps.
Also do not forget Edward Miner Gallaudet (hearing - son of Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, established Gallaudet University (other name during his time). Should his name be removed because he is hearing???? or he did not graduate from Gallaudet University? No…we thank him for his belief in Deaf people can do anything! He was the president of Gally University from the age of 20’s until his death. He cherished ASL because his mother was deaf. His father (hearing - Thomas H. Gallaudet) established American School for the Deaf in Connecticutt.
Same idea with James Lee Sorenson’s brother-in-law, who is deaf.
I enjoyed ur vlog and the subsequent comments, however, like two other persons have already said….your skulls and bones t-shirt provided the distraction enough for me to fight and keep up with ur message flowage.
I encourage you to dress properly for your next vlogs, no big deal but convey your message loud and clear without any distractions is essential. Cheers!
Wow… I am getting lost!! I am still learning more…and interesting.. my god.. SLCC is on Gally’s property?. I am going to catch up all things about SLCC to understand better about that since I am behind.

so each deaf person who works as installer will earn 50 dollars per installment and vrs operators can earn up to 82,000 per year.
