I Just had a Spontaneous Orgasm
Say Hello to the Apple iPhone!
This WILL be the communications device of choice among Deaf and hard-of-hearing people, dooming Sidekicks, Blackberrys, and Treos to the back of dusty desk drawers.
Coming in June, 2007, the Apple iPhone will run the OS X, and combine a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a Internet communications device with full-featured email, web browsing, maps, and searching. What makes this device stand out is the complete lack of a traditional keyboard or keypad, utilizing instead a user interface based on a multi-touch display and software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. Also tossed in are the following feaures: A 2-megapixel camera, iTunes music player with cover art collection, WiFi, Bluetooth, and super fast EDGE, Quad-band GMS, multi-tasking ability [ie: read email while downloading stuff from the internet in the background] automatic fetching of POP3 and IMAP emails from Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, and most other clinets, and cool widgets, better known as Dashboard widgets on Mac computers. In short, the iPhone IS a full-featured computer in a mobile phone package, and will be priced at $599 with a 8 GB storage capacity and a 2-year service contract.
I can’t wait to get rid of my brand-new t-Mobile MDA phone and get a iPhone in June! Good-bye, and good riddence, T-Mobile, Hello Cingular!
Would some one please pass me a box of kleenex…. I need to clean up my pants. / -Ken @ BiblioMarket

Good to know someone’s sharing my excitement.
FYI, there’s a lower model priced at $499 with 4gb.
video looks nice. too back no one captions anything unless it’s broadcast on tv.
aware - that’s no longer true. stay tuned, i’m doing a story on something i found recently in the area of captioned video on the web. it’s very exciting news!
tayler - i’ve been a long time mac user and have dreamed of this day but did not think it would come. I kept hoping apple would bring back something like the newton of old, updated for the 21st century. they did MUCH better than i expected!! I’m thrilled, because my MDA is a pocket pc and i HATE the stylus with a vengence! everytime i open the damn thing and see the microsoft icon, i feel like a traitor.
Cool!
I know this will come as a shock to many…but I’ve NEVER owned a sidekick! I’ve touched it only twice - didn’t know what to do with it! LOL… and I’m a programmer, go figure.
That thing looks like a must, but… I like to stay home.
I guess I should get one for emergencies, though…
Keep us posted, please!
Oh here’s a box of Kleenex… wait… are you allergic? Sensitive? I’ve got different kinds of kleenex… so many choices!!
I laughed at your comment about MS… hehe. Bill Gates has gotten better, though - he’s been more concerned about poor people - him and his wife visit different countries and donate to the poor…
*mute button on hands*
lol…oh dear. this has got to be the BEST comment posting i’ve seen in years….
“Oh here’s a box of Kleenex… wait… are you allergic? Sensitive? I’ve got different kinds of kleenex… so many choices!!”
classic.
what about AIM or iChat? will the iPhone have that? so many of us use it….
yes, it appears that whatever you can do on your desktop or laptop computer you will be able to do on the iPhone. that includes ichat and AIM.
I am DEFINITELY going to get it…
several reasons….
I’m a diehard Mac user;
I own 2 iPods (along with loop system for my hearing aids)
I’m tired of Sidekick and want something pizzazz.
I’m going to get it and I will need 2 boxes of Kleenex to clean up my mEsS!
LOL
(((our baby inside rock rolling))) but I do not see anything about web cam with mini stands including a holder on dashboard so I can call vrs while driving? This is what I have been waiting for.
Anne Marie
anne marie - just let me catch you attempting to place a VRS call while driving third trimester pregnant and I’ll slap you silly, girl!
Boston - get your own kleenex, you punk!
Hey our baby is crowning!! I am calling vrs to let the hospital know!! I need all kleenex you have!!
Anne Marie
yahoo! happy to hear it! be sure to let us know how mama and baby are when you get a chance!
i’m crazy excited about the iPhone, BUT….I am wondering what types of headphone accessories will be available (if at all) for persons with cochlear implants. i have a Right CI only and in a perfect world there would be a direct link headset to the CI with the microphone OR the CI would work with the bluetooth headset. I’m still searching the net for possible solutions because I definitely want to be first in line for the iPhone in June!
