Ron, if this is a motion, I’d second it with an amendment that Gallaudet University be an ASL-centered, ASL-oriented and ASL-predestined university. Rationale: I will do my vlog to support you along with my amendment. Carl
I agree with u because my future who want go to Gallaudet university when i grow up, I want to use ASL all the time and better education in Gally. I’m still in high school in Jean Massieu School of the Deaf in South Jordan, Utah. I dont want break my dream because my dream about future, they asked me “where do u want to go university?” I said “Gallaudet” because in university have good communicate use ASL cause me understand what are they talking about.
I agree with you 100% and you made a valid point about Gallaudet University as an ASL centered. There are many other colleges and universities that provide communication accomodations for students who chooses non-signing route. Gallaudet has been recruiting non-signing teachers for years and this is causing problems. We need more Deaf teachers teaching at Gallaudet. In fact, ASL does help with English writing skills if they were taught the certain way.
