  • It's after 2 AM, on Thursday morning, here on the Eastern Coast. The events of Wednesday continues to resonate in my mind. What the administration did, in my opinion, is unforgivable and unjustifiable. There was no warning given, no quarter granted. They just marched up Mount Bison and destroyed the tent city there. I definitely believe this was done in retaliation for our temporary takeover of College Hall.

That only makes the crisis here at Kendall Green worse. It will stir up the winds of war here, and where the winds will go we don't know yet. We can only hope the administration won't stoop to even more drastic tactics to end the protest. Yet at the same time I'm gravely concerned the adminstration will go to great lengths to end this protest on their own terms, and the means they could use to meet their objective may end up destroying Gallaudet University for good.

What can we do about it? I think now, at this point, our only choice is to fight to the bitter end. We can't give up the battle, for if we do, it means the end of Gallaudet. To do so would to be to haunt us to the very end of our lives, always reminding us of our monumental failure at Kendall Green to stand up to the administration's corruption and say no more. For the common good of Gallaudet University, and for the future of our children, we must continue to fight the perilous fight.

It's hard to sum up in words the magnitude of the battle being fought over Kendall Green's future. I hope this'll suffice for a while.

Until then, keep fighting the good battle.
