Carl Dupree Jr: IKJ Cut My Father’s Life Short
You know Carl Dupree? Carl Dupree Jr is here to say something.
Carl- wow. A lot of people, I’m a little nervous. But I’m very proud
of you. My father was a leader for deaf rights. But after what I heard
this morning about dps, I felt sick to my stomach and knew I needed to
do something. When dps raided hmb and maced students and assaulted
them, I was fed up. What happened to my father. How did he die?
Police brutaility, yes, but lack of communication. They arested him by
putting his hands behind his back. IKJ did nothing. He cut my father’s
life short. Now’s the time to fight back, not with violence, but with
sign. Against IKJ, JKF, and DPS. They still don’t know sign. My
father died 16 years ago, and dps still can’t communicate with
students.
After my father’s trial, we asked IKJ to require all DPS to sign at
level 3. What did he say? N-O. Your lives are in danger. I’m very
proud of you, thank you.
Ryan- king said “no.” King said, “NO.” Wow. I can’t believe he would
say no to access? He killed us with that “no.” Level 3 is nothing.
Will we stop the protest? No. Okay. What should we do.
Sue mather- it’s important to know what happened to carl dupree. His
son said nothing has changed. Many students complained at that time
that professors couldn’t sign. He was a student of mine, a graduate
student of linguistics. He fought for his rights. That night, dps
murdered his father because dps couldn’t sign. I look at what’s
happened after 16 years, and saw the same thing continuing this
morning. My heart is broken. that night, while the mother was in a
meeting, the administration allowed the children to run around and play
without checking on them. They didn’t even care. History is repeating
itself. They don’t care. I’m emotional, but what happened then is
happened again. Fight for your rights. I’m still with you. Don’t
forget his father’s legacy.

I thought it was Carl Schroeder that called the DPS to arrest the honorable Carl DePree if my memory servess me right? Due to Mr. Carl Schroeder’s giving Mr. Carl DuPree a low grade on his English Skills or trying to pass English 50? Anyone care to clarify?

I WONDER WHY ADA NOT REPLY ME WHILE IN HOSPTIAL TOO..

Carl, Jr., I remember you when you were a child in Rochester, NY. Your father was at a Wegmans grocery with you and your siblings in a shopping cart; and you showed off your newly toothless grin. I am sorry that you lost your father to a stupid, tragic event that should never have happened at Gallaudet, of all places. Your speaking out is brave and will help to improve things through spotlighting them.

It seems Carl Schroeder prescreens all comments on his blog. If there seems no or few posted comments in response to his blog entries…you can suspect he is simply not allowing (he’s rejecting) reader comments to appear on his blog. Just an alert…

Iced Tea, yes this blog is moderated. Not only did pro fernandes have undertaken making threats against me and other protesters in an attempt to silence them, they also have attempted to ‘hijack’ this blog to bash and oppress other protesters constantly in another attempt to silence them. Too many of the pro fernandes fan’s comments are not fit to be printed. It is very sad that I was finally forced to moderate the blog because I did wanted to see a free exchange of ideas and thoughts, but unfortunately the pro fernandes fans left me no other choices, especially after making threats.
Mishka Zena, I understand why you are forced to moderate. It’s probably the same for Carl S. Thanks for you reply.
BTW, is there any old video of Carl Dupree anywhere? If Carl, jr., has some…I sure would like to see Carl’s ASL as he was.
