Endless Pondering

Why did the BoT sleep in 2000?

Why did the BoT sleep in 2000?

The faculty did object quietly to the BoT about Jordan’s appointing

Fernandes as provost in 2000 without consulting the shared

governance for the procedural approval.  They did let the BoT know

that they voted no confidence for Fernandes as provost. Dr. Glenn

Anderson was chair of the BoT. (He resigned from the BoT in

November of 2005 to apply for presidency of Gallaudet University.)

Two things would not happened if the BoT did not sleep. One,

Gallaudet would not have received an F (ineffective) for 2000-2005

under Provost Fernandes’s management. Two,  Gallaudet would

not have seen the protest conducted by some faculty, students, staff,

and alumni. Therefore, it is the incompetent BoT who is the source

of hurting the image of Gallaudet.  The names of the Trustées are

as follows:

Board of Trustees Members

Dr. Glenn Anderson, Arkansas, Chair

Cynthia W. Ashby, Goergia
Dr. Brenda Jo Brueggemann, Acting Chair, Ohio
Susan J. Dickinson, G-’77, Colorado

John T.C. Yeh, ‘71, Maryland
Honorary Emeriti

All official contacts with the Board of Trustees must go through the Office of the President, College Hall, Room 216.

Would that the BoT had not slept.  Consequentially,  Gallaudet burns.

I hope that someone will volunteer to interview Dr. Glenn Anderson

and ask him why the BoT slept in 2000.

  2. Do not tell me to shut my mouth.

I feel BoT has been derelict in its duty to protect the university by abandoning it in the time of crisis. It is my hope that they will see the light this Sunday.

  3. Couldn’t find any records in 2000 but earliest I can find is from Aug 2001.

    Celia May Baldwin (known alumni)
Anthony J. Buzzelli (is this one working for Deloitte & Touche in corporate tax business?)
Richard A. Dysart (film-maker - no clue as to whether he’s deaf or not but I recogized some of his films.)
    Dr. Vinton Cerf
Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, not deaf, now president of Spelman College
    Bill Graham, Secretary
Dr. Angela Jorges-Quinones (no trace of her I can find.)

  4. Wasn’t it suggested earlier that BoT may be kept in dark as all correspondence goes thru President office?

Or did faculty contact BoT directly back then?
