Students Injured At Brentwood Ave Gate
The DPS tried to break in the gates at Brentwood Ave while the students were asleep inside the tents or away doing other activities around 9 AM. The students woke up and frantically tried to prevent the gate from being opened. There wree some shoving by the DPS and several students were injured in the process. Someone mentioned seeing the foot of a student bleeding and wrapped in guaze. The students were very upset.
Another attempt to open the gate on West Virginia Gate was reported.
The belongings of the students, including the tents, at the gates were loaded in a front-end loader and driven to the front of the campus where the students at the Florida Ave Tent City saw the vehicle. The front-end loader dumped these belongings on the front lawn. Many students there were also upset.
Status of the Brentwood Ave and West Virginia gates are apparently open, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

There must be something that someone who told to DPS to reopen at Brentwood Ave and West Virginia gates. Eventhough this hasnot been confirmed yet. Now the administrators and BOT and IKJ and JKF are shame for what they did to protestors’injury. They are responsibilities for this injury. Also for DPS are worse responsibilities and violence against protestors.. Those people who are responsibilities to take care and pay for the medical insurance for those students injuried. Do you agree?

No, I do not agree. This was not peaceful. By blocking gates, they can expect to be shoved aside. What they are doing is wrong. The students who were hurt are responsible — nobody else. They chose to be there. They chose to defy the administration. If they get hurt, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
I am so shocked and appalled I want to cry, but I can’t. My God, why did DPS do that? Who ordered them? Why? What for? The protestors are innocent. They are only doing a peaceful protest. Oh God! I want to go back to Gally!
Injured Students can process the lawsuit to Gally and make IKJ and JK responsible to pay for their injuries…even worse, the DPS can’t sign…It is awful!!!
The protesters need to grow up. If they’re blocking access, then they can expect to be shut down drastically. The admin has been lenient with the students but I think now that the BOT is coming to town the leniency is fast evaporating.

How symbolic. Hearing and audists for all history have tried to use bulldozers to force open the mouths of the Deaf and bury us. This situation makes me so hopping mad, there’s tears in my eyes. I hope everyone who was hurt recovers quickly, and I hope there is a lawsuit filed soon. NOBODY in ANY SITUATION has ANY RIGHT to cause PHYSICAL HARM.

Of course it was NOT peaceful - OF THE DPS with no communication whatsoever, surprising the hell out of protestors.
Grow up? Exxcuseee me… of course they chose to be there. But like any tree huggers standing in the way, the bulldozers would NOT dare to plow throw. There would have been media, along with negotiators trying to get the tree huggers out of the way.
Did you see any negotiators with interpreters warning the students? Not according to reports.
DPS did go ahead, KNOWING the protestors were in the way.
The admin are trying to fight with the power they had - by using the bulldozers.
But it just shows that they didn’t even care about preparing for interpreters AHEAD of their plan to do this with DPS.
Bulldozers ran over tents without checking to see if anybody was inside…IS THAT A FACT??? Can someone verify that with video, photographs, sworn witnesses??? That is serious and actionable, if proven.
Let’s not allow truth to be the first victim in this battle.

Dianrez, I don’t know if the bulldozer did go through the tents as I wasn’t there. But Chris the student leader said he was kicked in the groin area by a special cop, probably a rental cop.

I hope criminal charges are filed against JKF and IKJ! There is no way DPS can act this alone. JKF and IKJ must have ordered them to do it.
IKJ and JKF are disgrace to the deaf community and they must be put in the Hall of Shame!

The students were told to report the incidents to the police. They have lawyers helping them.
