| | College Hall was locked down once again last night at approximately 12:30 am. But it appears that the lockdown has already ended. Personally, I didn't support the lockdown of College Hall. I understand the frustrations many students have because of the lack of concern from the administration, but locking down College Hall was not the answer. Protestors have been begging people to help out at the MSSD and Kendall entrances, but can't get extra aid there. However, when offered the opportunity to sleep inside, people jump at the chance. "It's cold outside," some whined. TOUGH! Protesting isn't about comfort, it's about standing up for something you believe in, no matter what. When the protests started up again over 3 weeks ago, no one expected they would continue as long as they have. But they're still going on and we must continue to fight it. Emotionally charged take-overs are not the answer. Something needs to be done. We need the people who say they are dedicated to show that they are dedicated to the cause and help out. Go sit at MSSD or Kendall. Bring blankets. Bring hot drinks. Whatever you can do, do it! We must win this fight. |
