Toddler Twins signing ASL!
Adrian 4 ASL In Fall of 1980, Roger and I were 1 1/2 year old. We were in Montreal with Dad and he took us to visit Grandpa's workplace at CBC Studio. In the studio, we could see ourselves on the TV besides the videocamera. We could see what you see in the videoclip and we are signing about what we see. Observe how we already have right-hand dominance in our ASL signing and how th...

Adrian 4 ASL I just completed 2 years of studies in the ASL & Literacy Instructor Program (ALIP) at George Brown College (GBC) here in Toronto. I thought it would be a good idea to upload it and share it with everybody. I've throughly enjoy...

Hairclips for better ASL!
Adrian 4 ASL Have you got long hair or bangs that keep getting in your face while you sign? A small invesment in hairclips could improve your expressive ASL! I have noticed that some sign language students and, even, interpreters do not notice the role that their hairdos may play in their ability to express themselves in ASL. When signers have hair styles that easily falls in fr...

Recent Experience with Death
Adrian 4 ASL Recently I had an experience with death that has left a lasting impression on me that will not leave me anytime soon. I found that my being Deaf is a significant factor in the experience because there are communication issues that arise. Since then, I’ve thought more about the circumstances of my own death. I want to share about what happened, what would have helped, ...

Why do Deafies who learn ASL later in life, seem to pick it up much quickly than their hearing counterparts? Because they don't have sounds distracting them? If the Hearies insist that Deaf people wear hearing devices so they can learn English aurally, and in turn, speak English.. ......

Idiom: "Straight from the horse's mouth"
Adrian 4 ASL What does the idiom "straight from the horse's mouth" mean? Where did it come from? All those years I thought it had to do with the trade of horses and not with racing horses! Fun to unlearn something!
