DeafRead Blog Awards Voting is Open
![]() | By Tayler Mayer Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 |
Welcome to voting for the 2007 Blog Awards!
Some important items to know before you begin voting:
1) Be sure to vote on all categories. Once you click on the vote button, you cannot go back to vote on the categories you did not vote on the first time.
2) Votes can be submitted only once. Please take careful consideration before submitting your vote. You can go to the voting page as many times as you wish to do research on each blog or entry.
3) An valid e-mail address is required to submit your vote. After submitting your votes, you will receive an confirmation e-mail with a special link. Click on this link inside the e-mail to verify your e-mail address. We will not sell or spam your e-mail address. We hate spam, too.
If you cannot find the confirmation e-mail in your inbox, please check your spam or bulk folder. Also e-mails may take longer than others to arrive. Allow an hour for the e-mail to be delivered to your inbox.
4) E-mail addresses are not the only way we verify that each voter is unique. We won’t be able to completely eliminate fraudulent votes. There is no way to do this on the web. What we can do is to minimize it. We have implemented extra security measures, other than sending a confirmation e-mail, to do so. The vote data will be analyzed.
The voting deadline is 8:00PM PST on Sunday, January 27.
Go here to start voting! Happy voting!
(Note: if you wish to link to the voting page in your blog, link to this post instead.)

Thanks, B.A.D. – I forgot to add this. The voting deadline is 8:00PM PST on Sunday, January 27. This is a week and half from today, which should be plenty. I’ll add this into the above post as well.
So far, so good. 1,662 votes from 124 voters in 3 hours.

deafk, your vote shows in the database. Wait a bit until either 1) the e-mail arrives or 2) for me to finish developing an online form that allows you to re-send the confirmation e-mail to yourself.
Thanks for voting!

I feel discrimination because most of blogs on Awards seems only Very PRO AMERICAN. I know some blogs outside USA are fanastantic and worked damn hard on design graphics but I cannot see any of them. I feel discrimination always American not other countries like UK.

Hey Tayler,
I saw the differences in Vlogs and Blogs. I am always interested in Vlogs. I already voted last week.

When I see “Welcome to 2007 Blog Awards Voting” I feel like I’m looking at something from a year ago. I do understand that you are honoring v/blogs from 2007 but that doesn’t keep it from looking old and outdated. It is 2008, guys. I suggest you rethink this …

Hi,
In most contests, the moderators recuse themselves. In this one, I notice many of their own personal blogs have been nominated. They may not have nominated them, but I think that they should be removed for reasons of equality and transparency. If not this year, next year for sure, or have an outside entity responsible for running the voting.

true; why are the human editors nominated? this is very… interesting.

How many votes and voters so far? Just curious, Thanks

Mr Savva has a point, deaf.read should have a ‘best foreign’ blog catagory, if only to encourage more world deaf to beome involved….

I want to be sure that all voters are deaf and hard-of-hearing, so that bloggers and vloggers would be duly voted. The same principle with Immigrants who are not allowed to vote.
