About Soapboxes
Soapboxes are any blogging-related topic that a person wants to discuss. Between 8:00am and 8:30, anyone will be able to write on a poster their topic. In the next half hour, from 8:30 to 9:00, people will sign up for which topic they would attend. The three topics that gets the most attendees will be selected for the afternoon soapboxes from 4:00 to 5:00pm.
15 minutes will be devoted to each soapbox topic. In between of the three soapboxes, a 5 minute break will take place. All soapboxes will be moderated. After the person (whose topic was selected) explains her or his topic, the topic is opened to the audience. Persons will be able to come onto the soapbox and make comments. Detailed rules will be available at the conference. This is designed to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to speak and brainstorm.
Conference Registration
*PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL BANQUET TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT. THANKS!
If you are attending BOTH the conference and Awards Banquet, register by making a payment of $11.86 on this PayPal page. The amount includes a PayPal fee and tax. Debit and credit cards are accepted. Registering with PayPal is not required. If you are not registered with PayPal, click the link “Continue” on the PayPal page to make your payment without needing to register.
If you are buying more than one ticket, repeat the process for as many tickets as you require.
This is on “first come, first serve” basis. We are limiting the number of attendees at 100 people due to ballroom capacity. If we receive 100 PayPal payments, we will be unable to sell more seats. An identification card (e.g. driver’s license) is required at the banquet. We will match your name to the guest list.
We are accepting at-door payments of $10 cash only. We may or may not be able to provide change, so try to bring exactly $10. Tickets are “first come, first serve”. We apologize if you arrive at the door to learn the tickets are sold out.
Here is the dinner menu for the Awards Banquet:
Field Greens, Roasted Pecans, Bleu Cheese Crumble, Red Wine Vinaigrette, Mozzarella and Cheeses, Tomato Basil, Fruits of the Season
Breast of Chicken Topped with Champagne Sauce
Roasted Prime Rib of Beef carved to Order with Au Jus Sauce
Poached King Salmon with Dill caper Butter
Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Roasted New Potatoes, Gourmet Breads and Butter
Cakes, Tortes, Petite Sweets
The 2007 Awards Banquet begins at 7:00pm. Joey Baer will be the evening event’s Master of Ceremony. Thanks to Sprint Relay for paying $18 each person for the above dinner menu.
If you are attending JUST the conference and NOT the Awards Banquet, e-mail me your registration at tmayer@deafread.com. Include your full name (Tayler Mayer) and your city and state (Los Angeles, CA) in this e-mail. Conference registration is free, compliments of Sprint Relay!
We will have a professional photographer at both events. Chris Hamilton, of Hamilton, Photography, is donating his photography services. Be sure to thank Mr. Hamilton at the conference!

I wonder if you can do me a favor as Roasted Prime Rib of Beef carved to Order with Au Jus Sauce sound really good, but I wonder if you can check with hotel who serve the meat that the meat is Sodium Nitrite free? Most processing meat has sodium nitrite that I am trying to avoid.
Thanks

Awh. Both topics from 3 to 3:45 are important and I wanna see both. I suspect many who attend would feel the same way. No chance of rescheduling one of these, hunh? *grin*

yes, jenny, i can understand that. i feel the same about 11 to 12 topics! darn it!

I feel the same with Jenny and brenster.
Wonder if each of those presenters will have hardcopy of their presentation to give out so that those will not “miss” each of those topics?
Thank you

Any updates on the number of attendees?
January 25th, 2008 at 10:48 am
78 people bought tickets to the Blog Awards. Approximately 5 people registered for the conference only, which means, as of today, approximately 83 people are expected at the conference. That’s just the number of registrants.
